Fixing my JK Wrangler Rear Window Defroster Tab | How to Fix Rear Defroster Defogger | 2 Part Epoxy

In this video, I show how I fixed my rear window defroster using the Frost Fighter 2000 Bonding Kit. This kit worked great compared to other kits you could get off the shelf from the local parts store. I did end up putting on a brand new tab, which required me to install a spade connector in place of the original. I did so it was a more common connector, and it would have better electrical contact.

I have to say I'm excited over finally fixing my rear defrost. I tried soldering which did not stick. I also tried permatex which never worked. This was the bomb diggidy. 👍🏾

@thegaragevlog did you have trouble getting the adhesive to set with the heat gun? I tried in my 55-60 degree garage today, let it sit for 10 minutes, then applied the hair dryer and after a minute or so with the hair dryer, the adhesive just melted and the tab fell off. Let it set for another 10-15 minutes, tried the hair dryer again, but it just kept melting. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

So I'm now on my 3rd!!! rear window from the Jeep dealership because the defroster tabs keep popping right off... Jeep service actually is starting to blame me somehow for this continuing to happen over and over, which makes ZERO sense.. but I have a question?? Do you mix the compound and put some on the glass, and also dip the tab into it, or did you just dip the tab and stick it on the glass? Also what grit sandpaper are you cleaning the glass with or does it matter? Lastly did you push down hard, super hard, or just a little bit when you stuck the tab to the glass?? This didn't work for me, to be honest it was complete trash, would not set even with the inside of the car 100 plus degrees.
