Fuerte avocado foliage is always lighter green than many other varieties. Best fertilizer to keep your avocado trees super lush and green is called nutri-rich 4-3-2. It’s a poultry manure based pellet. Very affordable in 50lb bags. Top dress over wood mulch compost. This combination produces a huge microbes 🦠 population and soil fungal web that not only allows for maximum nutrient absorption and allows better metabolic uptake of micro/macro elements.
@nicolassaarni88
@nicolassaarni88 2 жыл бұрын
Nutri-rich also has 7% calcium. Keeping the calcium levels high let’s the plants metabolize and absorb more nitrogen and therefore thicker stems and bigger greener leaves.

This natural fertilizer and wood mulch technique allows maximum colonization of beneficial fugal webs in the root zone. Pretty much prevents root rot 100%

@@nicolassaarni88 I'll have to look into this stuff, wonder if I can find this locally. I have bags of True Ag that is an Organic which I haven't tried yet but this weekend it will get applied. Thanks for the feedback!

@@AvocadoTalk you can definitely find it at a agricultural supply store, I’ve never seen at big box stores. Around 15-20$ 50lb bag. I use this fertilizer on all my orchards in California and Hawaii it’s the best product for healthy soils full of worms and beneficials

Love that sprayer Was good to get a review on the bacon I have a bacon in a cool climate (Canberra)where no one’s has succeeded with avocados so far

Keep going, could happen especially with bacon, Jim Bacon and Zutano handle the low temps well too. There are other Mexican varieties like Stewart, Mexicola, Mexicola grande handle even lower temps, not sure if you can find them where you are at. Sprayer works good, capacity kinda small but not to much of a problem. thanks for watching!

That's a really cool Ryobi device. Now I gotta wait for Dewalt to make one cause all my tools are Dewalt. That guac looked so good 👍

Yeah I'm on the Milwaukee eco system but at $49.97 with a charger and battery so it's an OK deal. I was worried that it might clog the nozzle but it was ok. The family likes the guacamole too. Thanks for watching!

I’m the same G all dewalt and some Milwaukee tools. I have a battery conversion plate to run ryobi 18v off my dewalt 18v batteries which is good for the random rarely used tools so my batteries are always used regularly and ready Always remove battery from adaptor after use because I have found some adaptors to have a continual light battery draw and could drop battery lower than level it can recharge If this happens there is ways to correct but best to avoid

@@VirginiaFruitGrower I have multiple adaptor for less used older dewalt tools that adapts nicd to lithium. Very handy but in hard use I have had a couple adaptors fail but only $30 lets me use $700 tools instead of being landfill I’ve found the adaptors that do not have a usb charging socket in it to be the longer lasting adaptors with less unwanted discharge

Makes it fun to spray, more testing is needed to see if the electrostatic function does anything. I'll pick 1 of my Bacon in Dec and try it out. Excited to finally get a fruit form this tree. Thanks for watching!

Did the iron foliar spray turn your leaves green?
@AvocadoTalk
@AvocadoTalk 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sam, yeah starting to turn a little more Green, I'm going to give it some more time since it's been slow because of winter. Did you have yellowing of leaves too?
@Sam-mc2dk
@Sam-mc2dk 3 жыл бұрын
@@AvocadoTalk A few of my trees have some yellow leaves. I ordered the iron and will spray in a few days. It’s weird that a few trees have yellow leaves the the others are very green and I fertilize them the same way. I hope it helps.

@@Sam-mc2dk it worked on my Kona, changed it from yellow to green in about 1 month, not sure what is exactly going on with the Fuerte. Sometimes it's just the tree root system, example I have 2 reeds, I feed and water exactly the same and one talking off, other is slow but coming along. Keep going, let me know what you figure out.
@Sam-mc2dk
@Sam-mc2dk 3 жыл бұрын
@@AvocadoTalk Glad it helped your Kona. After thinking about my trees, the age of the leaves is a factor. Also, how much sun might be part of it too. Two of my trees that have yellow leaves are GEMs and they are in an area where there is more shade. I put them there because the have a more open canopy and had some sun damage. We will see if it helps.

How far, how many feet away can that Ryobi sprayer spray; the distance?
@AvocadoTalk
@AvocadoTalk 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Neal, it sprays out 1-2 feet away depending on the setting, for example if I have it on the 50 micron spray mode, I can see that If I'm trying to reach higher, the finer mist will loft upwards past 2 feet away. My other sprayer depending on the nozzle setup could spray further with a bigger droplet size. Hope that helps.

Bacons are our favorites, however sadly late Bacons into February get bottom splits and tend to get some rots...so we enjoy our early. When I had iron issues, after trying chelation, I just hammered rusty rebar into the soil around the tree, seems to have worked. Cheap too. Thx for the great videos.

Nothing motivates me to grow my own fruit more than the double sticker.
@AvocadoTalk
@AvocadoTalk 3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes you get 2 stickers by accident and now it is intentional. Plastic stickers are the worst, I throw my peel and avocado skin into the mulch and I find plastic stickers still hanging around years later. So many benefits: fruit you grow always taste better then store bought.

@@AvocadoTalk I think avocado peels make the best mulch. I constantly discard old peels onto my avo mounds. That reminds me, I forgot a peel on the kitchen counter this morning that my wife will not be happy about. A side note, I've heard that Bacon avocado seedlings make strong rootstock.
