LYRICS:
God got tired of winning
And that’s why we’re here
He wanted a surprise ending
And that’s why we fear
Objects in the sky descending
Objects in the sky detecting
So will we steer this ship straight through the void
Or turn on ourselves and die out?
Are you tired of winning?
‘Cause it’s already over
We were never enough
Are you tired of winning?
No one’s coming to save us
Are you going to live this life alone?
The devil’s cut is the angel’s envy
That’s why we're lusting
The truth is never the fantasy
That’s why we bend things
Objects in the sky descending
Objects in the sky detecting
So will we steer this ship straight through the void
Or turn on ourselves and die out?
Are you tired of winning?
‘Cause it’s already over
We were never enough
Are you tired of winning?
No one’s coming to save us
Are you going to live this life alone?
How will we hear the truth cut through the noise?
Or do we drown ourselves all out?
Are you tired of winning?
‘Cause it’s already over
We were never enough
Are you tired of winning?
No one’s coming to save us
Are you going to live this life alone?
ALAN WATTS -
The mystery of life is not a problem to be solved
But a reality to experienced
When you speak
It’s silent
When you’re silent
It speaks
And slowly your thoughts will come to silence
And in that silence, you suddenly begin to see the world as it is
You don’t see any past
And you don’t see any future
You see that we live in an eternal now
There’s only the eternal now
Now
Ever since the beginning
We’ve been fearing the ending
And keep on pretending
That we’ll never run out of time
Are we missing the meaning?
Are we missing the feeling?
Are we alive but not living?
Just like ships in the night
Ships in the night…

Just my ear as a Program director for WRIF ( Detroit), 98 KUPD (Phoenix) & 96.5 - (Houston)...... I'm just now hearing it, I like it, but it will DEFIANTLY get ignored by the "big label's new summer / fall releases", that they've had picked-out since last February, lmfao. And they say "Payolla" is not alive and kickin'? Hmph..... 40 years in the biz......

No one in my circle has the time of day to sit or lay down and just listen to the most genuine, explanatory articulation on about any and every walk of this gift we're give to experience, all the good, all the bad, the cards we are given, matters not if wholesome truth and transparency continues to place late to the inverted reality we know now. I wish the Spotify version had the outro. Other than that this song hit me like a ton of bricks. I honestly can not think of another band whose music garners such a visceral response from me. Whether it's wanting to throw hands with the entire world after "The Matthew Effect" or breaking down sobbing pining for my late father after "Fade In/Fade Out" - your music simply transcends mere sonic pleasure.

This song always makes me think of "Epic" by Faith No More. Especially the sound effect that swells behind the "steer this ship" line. @@nimhard I‘d argue that people like Andy Cizek of Monuments and Spencer Sotelo of Periphery still have a little more range in terms of notes and different distorted techniques/sounds but he‘s certainly already doing a great job!

God got tired of winning And that’s why we’re here He wanted a surprise ending And that’s why we fear Objects in the sky descending Objects in the sky detecting So will we steer this ship straight through the void Or turn on ourselves and die out? Are you tired of winning? ‘Cause it’s already over We were never enough Are you tired of winning? No one’s coming to save us Are you going to live this life alonе? The devil’s cut is the angеl’s envy That’s why we're lusting The truth is never the fantasy That’s why we bend things Objects in the sky descending Objects in the sky detecting So will we steer this ship straight through the void Or turn on ourselves and die out? Are you tired of winning? ‘Cause it’s already over We were never enough Are you tired of winning? No one’s coming to save us Are you going to live this life alone? How will we hear the truth cut through the noise? Or do we drown ourselves all out? Are you tired of winning? ‘Cause it’s already over We were never enough Are you tired of winning?
