The sad news of Mr. Baylor's passing brought me here. Rest In Power Elgin Baylor, one of the most underrated players in NBA history.
@jujuju9483 жыл бұрын
He is so criminally underrated. Elgin was one of the first players to showcase such athleticism and craftiness to this game. I hate how much no one talks about him. He could score in almost anyway and rebound like crazy too.

Faster pace more possesions. Back then teams averaged like 112 ppg and with no 3's and shooting 43% fg. So a lot more rebounds going around. Why do you think no ones comes close to wilts 55 rebounds? Yea he was a great rebounder but Dennis rodman actually has the highest rebound rate ever. Which means he grabbed more of a percentage of rebounds when he was on the court. Dennos averaged 18 rebounds when teams were scoring 92 ppg making like 4 3pters a game.

Because youth vote like idiots ! When you are interested in anything than you need to learn the history from start to finish ! I see stuff that starts in the 70s or 80s just to prove there points ! Everyone talks about lebron , MJ but hardly anyone knew Baylor , Pettit or even Wilt ! People say MJ is the goat based on popularity and 6 titles Ridiculous when you Wilt holds 68 records that imo never will be broken ! Everything starts with respect and youth have hardly any respect for those who built the game ! My Alltime fav are Wilt , Baylor , Magic , Kareem , Kobe , Bird , West , Shaq , Duncan , Moses , Karl Malone , Barkley , Hakeem , Dr J , Nique , Ewing , Robinson

2-3 times they try to bait him into provocative topics, and each time he doesn't go for it--doesn't malign Sterling now that the suit is long over, doesn't complain about lack of blacks in upper management, and doesn't rhapsodize about his swooping moves. Nice to see that kind of humility.

Mr. Elgin Baylor is a legend, but he never won an NBA Championship. And by today's standards, some would say he's a loser and he wasted his career. I don't believe that at all, but I know some out there think that.

That isn't fair it was 2 HOF against 8 or 9 on the Celtics. It'd be like teaming up Bron and KD and having them play against the 8 or 9 of the top 20 players in the league.
@TataShvaler6 жыл бұрын
Most of those Celtics HOFers are in there because Bill Russell led them to all those Championships. Without him they couldn't even beat Pettit's Hawks in the '58 finals nor could they (or at least a couple of them) sneak into the Playoffs the year after he retired. Russell had a very good supporting cast but let's not overrate them. None of them was close to the level of an Elgin Baylor or Jerry West.
