My Komi friends showed me how they entertain in the Komi republic during winter, took me to the Komi village and for ice drifting on the frozen lake. Join my trip to learn more about Komi :)

Bactrian camels (two humped) are from Mongolia, and they are used to the extreme cold of the high plateau. The single humped camels are called Dromedary, and those are the ones we see in hot desert countries. So your little friend was right at home in the cold of northern Russia.

Thank you, I am from arctic Norway, and we actually share very much of culture. Both arkitecture - old and new, reindeer herding, foods, motorsport and the love for winter. We also share some of the patterns in clothing - woven and knitted. I will visit Komi when I can :)

I was looking for a video that you published I think about 2 moths ago but it is no longer accessible on KZbin!? It's called "Training with the Russian Special Forces - Spetsnaz" (20:06). Since I can't see it anymore on KZbin!? I have to ask how did you get access to train with SPETNAZ. If I would try to get in and train with the Special Forces unit of my country. I would assume I really needed to know the right people, to ask and at least go throw a rigorous security check. So how did you get access to train with SPETNAZ ?

I've visited Syktyvkar and it's beautiful. The traditional Komi culture is so similar to the Finnish one! I guess it's because we are related. We Finns have our beloved wood burning saunas, Komi people have their banyas. Even the traditional clothes look so similar. Both cultures have sagas about birds. I found that Komi people look somewhat familiar too.

"Shangi" looks like karjalanpiirakka, and interestingly I think the Udmurts (another Finno-Ugric people) have a similar dish too (potatoes or rice pudding on top of rye crust)

The camel is better looking than those in the deserts...I have been in a Sami dwelling just like that in Norrland, Sweden years ago. Very warm, friendly people. I would rather be there than here in Las Vegas believe it or not!
