The hemp- and linen-thing is an in my opinion very well choice to hit the taste of your audience, but Iam of course not that sure about it. I had clothes made of linen, which I w ore for decades, without any real traces of that long term use! My father cooks hemp seats for fishing🐟.🙂 Sometimes I like your seemingly obedience not very much!! (Tetrahydroxylcanabinol is very soft drug for instance, I don't like) ,but when I start to think about it in a more complex way I completely understand it quite often!🙂

I've been studying the North Caucasus region ever since Eli's first video of the region. This particular Enclave has eluded me. I never realised it was hiding in plain sight. Everyone there is so knowledgable about their country's culture and heritage. The best part of these videos is when Eli gets to interview the locals who can share their insight into the region. So many content creators skip over speaking to the locals and that's what sets this channel apart.. Smiles.

If she has the time it would be interesting to get the local people to speak for a minute or two in their local dialect. She could be developing a catalogue of current language trends. An old Russian lady taught me years ago that "street" is pronounced as "olitsa" but now every Russian you meet pronounces it "ulitsa." Russians used to say (for hello) zdravstvuyetye but now it is shortened to zdrastvuyche. Or a totally different "privyet."

We lived there 1976-1986, then 1986-2000 in Jordan, and i moved to Michigan and stayed there since 2000. I never knew how rich Adygean culture was till i saw this video. Thank you so much. What amazes me is that you don’t know. Such rich culture. When Americans are 4 to 10 nationalities they have some stronger ones they bond with intellectually but food is above all the bond maker. I make German foods and Irish dishes and Swedish all taught by grandmas. Now I have Belarusians and Mexicans in the family. We have Mexican day, German day, Swedish pancakes and Irish dance….imagine trying to have roots. This cheese bread interests me tremendously.

There are many Adighe people in Turkey today; generally all the North Caucasian peoples are known by a collective name “Çerkez” (Circassian) but most people don’t know about the various groups within that general header. They are well known for a smoked cheese that looks a lot like the one you showed in the market, but also for smoked string cheeses and more. The string “Circassian Cheese” sold in Turkey is nice, but one friend brought some from the homeland and you could tell they’d worked a lot harder to make it. And it was amazing.

Hi Eli! As always, you write very well about the places you visit. The Republic of Adygea is wonderful like the whole Caucasus area for its natural aspects and good food. In every video you made about the places in the Caucasus, you showed us the culinary richness that all these republics have and the great variety of cheeses they produce that deserve to be known and these places visited. I was surprised by the fact that in this Republic hemp is processed and excellent fabrics are made. Some time ago, I read a newspaper article that Leonardo da Vinci scholars discovered that Leonardo's mother was from the Caucasus, precisely from Circassia, who was called Caterina Buti del Vacca or Caterina di Meo Lippi who had been kidnapped and captured in the city of Tana which today is the city of Azov and then sold several times as a slave passing through Constantinople, Venice and then Florence where she met Leonardo da Vinci's father. Scholars think that the smile of the Mona Lisa or Mona Lisa is not that of Lisa Gherardini who she had portrayed, but rather that of her mother. Anyway, seeing this video made me want to eat those delicious cheeses. 🤤🤤🤤 As always your videos are very informative and a pleasure to watch. I greet you and send you a warm hug. 😊

By watching these informative videos about Russia, I come to know many things that I didn't know about Russia and the potential it has such as gastronomic products and traditional cuisine which is very rich in delicious dishes. I am making my first acquaintance with all this virtually by seeing these videos, however, I would like to know all these qualities that Russia offers when I have the chance, to come directly to Russia and have more direct contact both with the people and with what that they offer. 😁

@@francescocursio4523 I know quite many Russians, but many of them don't live in Russia and tend to rather not having a real connection to the country (any more) unfortunately. To got to know people from there will take it's time, but I see no real obstacles for myself as Iam quite communicative, empathic and sociable..so that I never had problems concerning this in real life. Written communication on channel's etc. is in my opinion a rather more complex thing and can often lead to misunderstandings and also wrong impressions of persons in general!

In fact, I believe that the best way to get to know people is to do it in person and not virtually and I agree with you that virtual socialization can give the wrong impressions to the person on the other side.

@April98-ju4ib the entire history of mankind since before Ur has been of conquest. Compared to other colonial powers during the Great Game period of colonisation, Russia always actually exercised a very light touch {the ((( Bolsehviks ))) for 70 years, not so much}, or else you would see no evidence of local ethnicity, language, culture, cuisine and tradition. If you wanna all be mad about colonisation, go talk to Britain, France, Portugal, Holland, Spain, and the current governments of Israel and the USA since 1945.

I don't know if you noticed or not but Google maps is making it harder to look up places in Russia. They no longer outline certain regions and rather just give a blanket shot of the area. They are actively trying to make it harder to learn, explore and find places in Russia.

That's why a good set of paper maps can't be tampered with. Anything electronic is subject to meddling over the internet. During the second world war (velikaya otechestvennaya voina) [great domestic war, anglicized to great patriotic war] hemp was very important to the war effort in the United States just like with Russia. So it was heavily subsidized across the Midwest corn-growing region, and was kept on the low side for tetrahydrocannabinol. As late as the 1980's it was common to find residual escaped feral hemp plants in fencerows but they have now largely gone extinct.
