Purchased the Tri Flow Chevy 19" x 28" from Eastwood. Also purchased the aluminum fan shroud. Received it & installed it. After a short drive. I found it had a pin hole in it & it was leaking. Called Eastwood only to find out that because I trimmed the mounting tabs to fit my rad support, I Voided The Warranty. Just a side note Eastwood. Not all rad supports are flat. !!!!!!!! $ 100.00 later rad shop fixed the hole. I reinstalled it. Road test. It did not lower temps AT ALL !!! Very Disappointed in the product. Complete waste of $ 500.00

Looks and sounds great! Does it have any extra load on engine's water pump?

My car is supercharged makes 900 hp on pump gas. I'm hoping this will fix the cooling issues I'm having. The price had me worried about quality but I ordered one so we will see.

Horsepower Junkies of Texas did it solve your overheating issue bro?

7 years later how'd it hold up?
@horsepowerjunkiesoftexas5243Ай бұрын
@@ubacow7109it actually worked good enough. It would get up around 210-215 and stay there in the Texas heat.

@@betosgarageit kept it from overheating so yes.

can I get a radiator with brackets that mount in front of the core support?
@eric49466 ай бұрын
Looks good for applications where you have lazy water pumps in old v8s and bad radiator designs that don’t flow evenly. I still feel a properly designed single pass is going to be fine.

It's a solution if you're running into over heating problems - mostly for older hot rods like you mention but suitable for anything that might need it.

How much cooling difference would you see on radiator of that type than the old style single pass radiator such as was designed the sixties and seventies. Also would using a radiator of that type used in a horizontal position be effective. I'm building my version of a 90s style gtp car.

How much water will this flow, cfm?
@bossbuilt6 ай бұрын
Will these radiators need higher pressure to work? Looks like your cutting down the flow volume by 1/3. Or does a stock water pump work? what is the required pressure/gpm?
@eastwoodco6 ай бұрын
They will work with stock water pumps and we recommend 170 to 180° thermostat
@bossbuilt6 ай бұрын
So a lower t-stat because it takes longer to get through the radiator? I'm trying to understand. My single pass runs a 195 t-stat to maintain 200-205* Edit: BTW it's an early SB 350 with a 19x19 2 row 1" tube core.

The lower thermostat is just another item that can help drop running temperatures as the system is opening up sooner.

These are not drop in replacements that's why there under $200. If that's the only way your skill level will allow you to upgrade it then look at other companies. But sit down when you see the price.

if it fits and has the right connection then yes. If it has the capacity and airflow & fits then any radiator will work. I think what your asking is will it fit my car. Measure your stock rad also see if a larger one could be made to fit. An example from MOPAR is most came thru with a 26" wide rad, but nearly all could be fitted with the larger higher capacity 28". It's a common upgrade. if the car was slant 6 or 318 pwr if got the small rad, if it had the hp 340 or towing pkg it got the larger. Even some big blk 383 had the smaller rad, putting in the larger rad is always a good idea. No it won't run to cool. That's what the thermostat is for to regulate engine temp. Ideally engine should run around t-sate temp. This tells you the thermostat is control engine temp and not cooling system capacity. Some cars are harder to cool than others. So called"bottom breathers" corvette from 68 on firebirds 82-02 also any car with small or limited grill area. Air flow is the problem, getting enough .
