The only thing missing in this video are a set of judges handing out 10's at every jump.

Fab video. As someone who routinely does SRV route racing with my son on some random moon in the back and beyond, this will explain the mechanics to him better than I've been able to. I've spent hours just "crosstrailing" as that feeling of finding a fun new SRV playground is always fresh :)

Superb! That's exactly why I make this kind of video, so thanks for the response. Build videos are easy and quick, this kind of stuff takes an age and hardly gets a view but is a joy to make.

Excellent video... And thanks for the hint about the direction of thrust when inverted! I had no idea!

Thanks. I didn't notice the boost thing for years myself. If I was going too high I'd often flip and try and boost towards the ground - but I could never work out why it didn't help...

Seems the SRV should have a glove box with an Operators manual inside!

I run 0-4-2 pips and disable the shield if I'm prospecting and not expecting to take fire from skimmers - saves fuel useage rate and shields don't seem to help when prospecting anyway, as impacts hit the hull directly without the shield going down. The other thing i like when prospecting is the chilled out piano-ish kinda music that sometimes starts playing when you've been driving a while....or maybe that's just the space madness....

On Ice World's I drive with zero in Engines to keep me in a straight line (but this is actually driving on the surface, gotta try your way) If I have too many pips in engines it just seems to spin the back wheels like a 70s 3.0 Capri in the wet haha!!! Love your videos, you give superb and detailed info like no other (I love getting a Wiggy B notification) Thanks again Commander o7!!!

Flying definitely helps reduce the spin out problem. It takes a bit of practice before it feels natural, particularly given difficulties with yaw, but well worth the investment. Thanks for the vote of confidence by the way - means a lot.

WiggyB you deserve it, you've got a great channel. After watching this, it's SRV practise for me haha!!!

I love throwing my SRV about like a mad man lol. Doing front and backflips in-between picking up materials is so fun.

SRV racing anyone...

Haven't actually done an SRV race yet but I'm definitely down for trying it at some point.

I would love it if they introduced a few tracks with timing circuits into the game. Same for fighter races - kinda like X games stuff.
@sgtthumbless72856 жыл бұрын
That would be brilliant. I'd love a few tracks to race around. I did try racing around on a planetary city on my own before not too far from home but it wasn't a complete track, it was a road that almost circled the entire city but it was still pretty interesting and it definitely got me thinking about dedicated tracks.

I've done that too - while trying to work out how to get back into my ship. Didn't know about the garages then!

You should do another interesting build. I cam up with one that I think you'd like. It's an fdl made for team work. Basic idea is blitz into battle, quickly disable the enemy ship with mines by encircling them, then using torps with reverb to take down shields, you let the other wing member to take down the hull while you keep disabling the ship and shields.

Hey Wiggy is there any chance on maneuvering, advanced dogfighting techniques or no flight-assist guide coming up in the future? I think everyone from your subscribers would love to see that!
@WiggyB6 жыл бұрын
I've been avoiding that topic as there are far better pilots than me out there. Being in command of the editing software makes a world of difference to how I look when flying! Plus Vindicator Jones did a pretty good job of it an year or so back. Check out his thrusters and advanced manoeuvring videos. Really good stuff and very similar to the way I fly.

So would you say your driving is comparable to Travis Pastrana or Ken Block?
@davidkennedy62086 жыл бұрын
I wish Frontier did other SRVs, as this one's awesome for speed but not really ideal for rough n tumble. A bigger, tanky version with more than 2 ton capacity would be sweet.

What HOTAS are you using and if so what are the bindings for doing this SRV flipfest?
@WiggyB6 жыл бұрын
I use an XBox elite controller. Left stick is pitch and roll, right is boost (up) and steering. Bit of a crap setup when it comes to Guardian farming I have to admit! I haven't got the paddles bound to anything special in SRV mode. With a HOTAS you should have lots of inputs to get something that works. The most important for me was dissociating steering and roll.

the only thing that would of made this better....... out take clips at the end where you absolutely rekt yourself while driving ^^
@WiggyB6 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it. As for getting rekt, I think I only died once - and one self destruct when I got stuck. Plenty of crashes though.
