I was curious about visiting this place once the launcher let me install ED on my ext HDD. I deleted ED to have more space for other games the required C access... So, last night I finally got to fly to HIP 19026 B 1 c, and search for the site. I first circulated above the site to inspect it from a distance. Next, I landed about 2 clicks from the outer ring of the site and slowly drove towards it. I was starting to get nervous. Slowly but surely I was closing in on the centre of the structure with my heart beat raising to levels I've never experienced in Elite. This was one of the best moments in Elite Dangerous I have ever experienced. Truly epic. Frontier outdid themselves with this. While ED is still just a screenshot simulator, this place took the grand prize. I loved it! Thanks Obsidian Ant for your guides! :)

It's awesome, the sense of scale and alien architecture design is fantastic. Sound design has always been sooo good too. I'd hop back in the game but I don't think many of my issues with it have been fixed. Although it might be cool searching for Thargoid stuff. I had many hours of fun though just exploring solar systems so it was definitely worth it, super chill and awe-inspiring.

Cryforall YT finding the docking bay is criminally easy, just look for a giant floating number 10.

get an advanced discovery scanner to map that system out when you arrive (so you can find the planet/moon in question). then on the planet, your SRV has the only scanner you'll need to scan the nodes.

I need some help ObsidiantAnt. I have flown all over the planet on the PS4 and I can't find the base anywhere. Is there a trick to approaching the planet or a hint on what quadrant it can be found? I don't know what good the coordinates do me when I have no way of knowing where I am relative to the coordinate location. Can you help a brother out?

This slow feeding give you the chance to come in later, because there is many that will come in the future. With faster stuff you would have missed many many more things.

This slow feeding is the problem. Season 2 was supposed to be completed in 2016. Its almost july of 2017 and we're still waiting on 2.4 to be released. Truth be told, if you wait a year to start playing this I doubt much will have changed based on their history of patch releases. Anything you "miss" can either be played in game in about 20 minutes or watched in a video like this in 10.

The PS4 version is identical in terms of content to the PC version. :) You need the Horizons season pass to land on planets.

Well, judging by how the thargoid ships look and how these structures look I'd take a wild guess and say that the thargoids are using bioships that are "grown" from the barnacles and the sites that have now been found are some stage inbetween the barnacles and the "finished" bioship.

I like to imagine the pattern the overall area represents is that of a launch/construction/growth site of what passes for a capital class thargoid vessel, much like the ones we have already seen, but vast in size and power. The spires could pass for an interlocking mechanism which detach from the oversized thargoid vessel during departure and the central structure is a kind of nest or breeding ground. The scavengers could be the equivalant of space based organisms such as fleas, that feed off of thargoid based biology, but that's just a shot in the dark.

Hi there, thx for the video I am right now at that point. There are datalink to scan on top of the structure, however they are not accessible unless you are in a SRV. One is in the central opening. You can drive your SRV up there with a little patience.

I think I landed my Cutter on that planet last night just to log out, after deciding to pick that system, rather than the other two which have been touted! If it turns out I picked the right planet first time, and looking at the video notes I may well have done, then happy days! I'll watch the rest of the vid when I've seen the base first had, don't want a spoil it! :)

Humanity did. In one of the previous Elite games a biological weapon was created to fight the thargoids. It was so effective that it put them on the brink of extinction and they went into hiding. Now at this point they are returning.

Im positive now that the Barnacles are seeds for these. Either for building giant ships, which this may be, or else for bases to seed themselves closer to the human settlement. either way, they're coming.

less than 1% has being discovered by the community yet, they seem to discover these pretty quick, I think some file scanning rather than exploration is happening unless these occurrences are suppose to becoming deliberately common.

There's a stream were they actually activate the base from the inside with unknow artefacts, links... and then displays the galactic map... i wonder if there are any hints toa planet or a system there ? We'd have to take a plane picture of it and compare it to ours by overlaping them... maybe we'd find there're different as they perhaps could have knowledge of the existance of locations still undiscovered by humans. Who knows ?

Never bought it at all mind you - was given ED by a good friend and woefully disappointed we can't EFT funds to each other, sometimes couldn't even play together, so its Uninstalled. once again, some extemely impresive work from the artists, but i do have a big fear because of this : the gameplay will not follow. as demonstrated by all the previous updates, FDev has been relunctant to add any form of meaningfull gameplay that isn't behind a huge grindwall or paywall. and this update will be probably no different. the scavengers are reskined skimers that do not do anything, the alien flowerships are probably going to be reskined NPCs, and players that dont have horizon or the engineered modules will be defenceless against a thargoid hyperdiction, which they will probably be plenty of.

mansuy adrien alien ships will have new combat techniques which will require players to work together to take down, special weapons will also be added aswell as armour to help defeat them, gameplay will definitely improve but not till 2.4

Dr.Strange [Canonn] I am all for strategy and techniques, but I fear for the equipment. FD won't want people to have acess to anyone thargoid weaponery, so they are probably going to stick it to the enginieers system. but that means that players without horizon or enginieered modules will be completely defenceless. conventional weapons dont affect them and they disable any ship that is not shielded agaisnt it. and it will probably be again, a lot of wasted potential, as a good feature will be locked away once more behind a paywall and a grindwall

Stop speculating, there is no beta testing yet for 2.4 If the game has dissapointed you so far just stop playing, I fucking love it so far and am glad how things turned out to be :) Really can't wait to fight some Thargoids in august/september. :)

I play since the beta, acheived triple elite, and has more than three thousand hours in the game. but the problem is that i saw them continuously missing the point, over and over again. they had so much potential, and they kept wasting it. and now, they ran out of time to rectify. their main advantage was that they were alone on the market, and then that competitors were inferior. but this will be over in a couple of weeks, and in a few days for me and the other edvocati testers. SC 3.0 Is landing and elite wont be alone anymore. SC, even if it is still way unfinished, is going to have almost the same amount of content, and is actually addressing almost all the problems elite has denied since the beta. elite is as much an alpha as SC, just that SC does not markets themselves as a finished product. and this is going to kill FD down the line. that is sad, because I like the game. but no ammount of eye candy and grind walls will stop this now.
