Ed just turned 92 and is still at this level. His disease hasn’t progressed much at all, thankfully. He’s just so lovely.

You are 💯 percent correct Dan, I've cared for my mother, mother in law, who had Parkinson with it, my father in law, and my dad, all had dementia. It was exhausting and hard at times, but don't regret taking care of them. They are all gone now, but we still have the memories!

I love watching these videos. My mom lived with my family when it got to unsafe for her to live alone she had dementia. I was the only one of her kids that would take care of her so knew I was on my own . My husband was great helping and my kids her grandkids loved their grandma and they were a big help. I never regretted having her live with us . She has sinced passed away but I am so glad we had that time together and knew I did the right thing. She was my mom who took care of me when I was a child and she needed someone to take care of her. I like watching Ed and Dan connect and knowing Dan feels the same way I did. That's your parent and you want them to have family as they struggle through this awful disease

Heal the world Dan.Thank you for sharing this positve content with the world . This is how social media should be used , responsibly.Continue to teach us about dementia and show us how it works in real life so that patience and tolerance will be exercised if we come in contact with persons experiecing this, through no fault of their own.COMPASSION is the lesson to be leart from these vlogs and it starts with our very own.

His a good son, also a good man.The video part I would say millions will watch just to see how grandpa is doing.Thats all they care about.Trying to do the same thing I think most people will not be able to do that. They want to but they think they cant and the video do not help them find a way to make it work.So they watch because they want to do the same thing and they wish they could..

Dan, you look just like your daddy boy. You’re setting a Godly example for your own kids of taking care of one’s parents who changed our diapers for 2 years, taught us about life, put food in our tummy, clothes on our back, a roof over our heads, provided schooling and cars, and loved us unconditionally, even through those teenage years. How can we not give back? You’re blessed to have siblings that you can work with for your daddy’s best life. You’ll never regret one moment spent in caregiving. God tells us in the Book of Genesis that He put mankind on earth to look after His creations, and that includes each other. Most people have no idea as to why we are here. God didn’t put us here to collect great wealth and spend it foolishly. Dan & Danielle, you shall have a crown of jewels in heaven one day for looking after Grandpa. He’s precious. Hold him close and love him dearly. ♥️ May you be blessed with the patience of Job and a great sense of humor. It most assuredly takes BOTH.

I apologize for being a skeptic, but most families cannot provide the care and attention that Dan and his wife and brother provide to Ed. For one, Dan chose to no longer work as an attorney due to a heart attack, but is making what I would assume to be a good secondary income by turning his father into a worldwide phenomenon. My grandmother who had extreme dementia lived with us. My both parents worked. And my aunt (who had raised three boys alone after my uncle, who had worked three jobs, died of a heart attack at age 52). Soon thereafter, one of her sons, was drafted and was sent to Nam at age 18. My father worked long hours and continued to do so even after suffering through 11 back surgeries. He walked bent over like an old man, but he continued to ride the Long Island Railroad to NYC. He had joined the Marines during the Korean "conflict" at age 20 and died at the age of 69 of a massive heart attack. My parents gave my brother and I a good middle class life back in the 60s when a real "middle class" existed. Dan and his family live in what appears to be an expensive home and one of his cars is a Porsche. Anyway, apples and oranges seem to be operative here, as it would be for many children of parents with dementia who have finite resources and time. I wish Ed and his family the best and Ed's story serves as an educational and sensitive exploration of the tragic reality of dementia.
