It's down to the last hunt of the series, and a couple of the teams are milking every last second out of their elk seasons!
Team ANGRY SPIKE finds a big herd of elk in an open area - a rare treat for the coastal areas they hunt - and Shannon is moving in for a shot.
And Team ELK101 is pushing as hard as ever hoping to make it happen in the final minutes...but something other than their dry spell is about to break...

What an awesome way to put it together. Man John is worth his weight in gold, he packs the camera anywhere and everywhere, packs elk meat, packs hunting partners and even drops back to call while keeping the camera rolling. Cory couldn’t replace him if he had to.

Another great season! Was glad to see the season recap, definitely missed the episode recaps and strategies for success in each episode, would definitely like to see those comeback in season 5. Really like getting to see everyone’s different strategies and how they paid off. Always liked those hunting Rosies cause it’s similar terrain to where I am at. Gear dumps were another new and cool feature I like a lot, getting to know things others bring on their trips to make life easier. God's healing and peace Donnie. Sure glad you guys all put some content out there for us to watch. Relevant, actual results as per most of us is what I value most. You know, my father used to tell us: "elk in hand is worth more than 20 in the bush" he was all about getting meat on the table, antler size did not factor in to his agenda. LOL Tough year all around I would say with the drought and fires/smoke for sure. My experience has been that the animals get really picky about responding to sound and little or no ability to smell as well due to the smoke. Great series! Respect, gratitude and admiration from a Montana guy living in upstate NY.

Glad you're healing up Donnie! I broke my lower leg May of 2020 while scouting by myself on a mountain near our home. Not as bad of a break as yours, so was able to get myself back to the truck on my 4-wheeler, get it loaded and back home. Husband took me to the ER later that afternoon. Great series, but did miss Donnie's dad jokes and the recaps! Congrats to all, thank you to all the sponsors! Looking forward to Alaska and Outfitters for Hope films!

After watching the whole series, I have decided I appreciate the old format much better. For me, these are as much about personality as they are content. I come to the ELk101 for great content and great personality, I felt some of the teams lacked that draw to keep me interested in their hunts. I was not crazy about the breaking of each teams morning then each afternoon, I felt it just removed from the immersion of the hunt. It was also a little off for me knowing that they were all taking place at different times in the season. Greatly appreciate what you do regardless of formatting! Glad Donny is doing well!

Great season series. The team format was great because if I always seeing Donnie shooting something on the first day, I might just give up. I like this format. It clearly shows different hunting styles and how to adapt to different situations. It shows the highs and lows. It shows how fitness plays a role in preparing for the season. The most important part I took from this is how teamwork is a key role in being successful. You and Donnie, Skousen brothers, and Pure Elevation are incredible how they know exactly what the other is doing and how to play off each other. Thanks to all for a fun 8 days. I thought all the teams were great. I’m in Oregon, so of course I wanted to see that team fill their tags. I was rooting for everyone to fill there tag. Oh man...glad you are better Donnie. I know we did it all the time but it sucks to think what would have happened before cell phones or just no service!! Would not have been good! ASP deserves kudos just for hunting in that mess of the wet side of Oregon....not sure how anyone does it(or why you would want to...lol). Great series and the only negative is it seems like some long waits between episodes and just not as many as I was hoping but I understand the action plays a big part in that!! Thank you guys for sharing and giving me content while on the elliptical!!
