Hey team, love all the content you guys post, I managed to get hold of one of these sights and get it shipped to me in New Zealand, It's an awesome bit of kit, so well made, easy to sight in and the sight tape works well at all ranges. I'm shooting over 100 yards using the bottom pin as my rover. Keep up the great work, hopefully when the world calms down I can get over there to chase one of the those bull elk brutes.

This video was most needed great information Thank you Dan, I just purchased this sight in the direct mount Fast Eddie, it took me 3 outings to get the sight tape dialed in. Now its money out to 84 yards that's max for my arrow set up, fletching's contact the housing.

Very informative i always struggle with this after a tape is printed by my pro shop but love the step by step explanation. Its tough for me since i dont get to shoot super long often where i am for practice, but i still run a black gold 3 pin slider

I just built my first bow (a BEAR Divergent EKO, love it...) and I can already see the greatness of this sight and its design. Im running a 3-pin that so far I really like but I can see how the pins all being designed like a 1-pin type sight is superior and I learned years ago how much I prefer a less cluttered sight-picture on my rifles both for hunting and defensive uses. Someday I'll upgrade to this sight, and probably a Mathews bow as well.

I also watched the video where MFJJ mentions that the further out the sight is, the more you will miss by if you torque your bow. I would really like a detailed video where this is either tested and proven, or at least explained in greater detail, because from a physics perspective it does not make any sense. Imagine if I move my hand around with a sight close to the riser, and a sight that is backed all the way out from the riser. The motion that I make will move the pins in the far away sight more than it will in the sight mounted closer to the riser. That's basic trigonometry, so I am with you that far. However, this does not change the angle at which the arrow is off target, if the only variable is the sight's distance to the riser. In conclusion: torque will be more evident on a sight that is further away from the riser, especially torque while aiming, but it will not make you less accurate. I am happy to be proven wrong, so I will keep an eye out for a follow up video on either of your channels.

Thank you!!! Finally a precise, inclusive and in depth review of this sight. I had to buy one for my new Mathews V3X. I had a Hogg Father and ran out of right windage adjustment. My pro shop had this sight and they flipped the mounting block around like you did. Now I have all the left/right windage adjustment I could want. Yes they are heavy but they are built bombproof. Again you did a smack down job on this review!!

I really like my Tommy Hogg. It weighs slightly more than the Fast Eddie direct mount, but it holds the weight closer to the riser and also has an enclosed gear. The double pin is my favorite over the regular 3 pin, but I'd love to try the triple stack!

@NPC #4079338 I totally understand. I like having that second pin for quick shot situations. My first double pin was green and yellow dots and the yellow stood out too much. My current double pin has green and red and it's much better. The red pin is there if I need it but doesn't grab my attention as much.

Picked up a bowtech revolt with a XL double pin today. Took an hour to get a sight tape on it and was stackin at 70 in no time. For 300 bucks i think they could make the tapes stickers and i could leave my scissors at home

Without playing with the new Mathews sight integration, isn't the risk the same in that the dovetail lock could get loose and the sight slide? Seems this system only removes the dovetail mount bolts as a failure point.

Why do you like the stacked pins over the side mount pins? i am interested in a sight tape sight over my standard 4 pin. I just started heading west with the bow and understand the advantage of an adjustable sight vs my midwest stand hunting setup.

I got this exact site a couple weeks ago, but still waiting on my SR350 to come in so I can try it out. This sight is a little heavy, but it feels 100% bulletproof! My other bow is 23 years old tho, so this new stuff seems super light to me haha! Great video, as always 🤘

I'm used to a spot hog 5 pin fast eddy, I don't think the triple stack is any heavier than that sight. The people who complain about it being heavy must be used to single pins.

I ran into the not enough windage on my VXR, good to know they are fixing that. Since you don't have enough windage that MRT ring is basically unusable anyway as well. Spot Hogg also makes an extended sight tape that you can get that goes to 120yd as well. Definitely want that triple stack though! I have the double stack and it is solid.

I shoot this sight. I was on a hunt in az and my sight got bumped and the arm with the 3 arrow indicator came completely loose. I had to sight my bow in again. I would like to see some positive stop on the 3 arrow indicator arm or two Allen screws so it cannot come loose if bumped.

Arizona spot an stalk id go with the 5 pin.. 3 is cool but you stalk in an that deer moves an you have to estimate the yardage an that yardage is passed what you 3 pins are your gonna either have to aim high or adjust the wheel in the field mid stalk.. i think thats good for tree stands and ground blinds.

My brother has purchased the same sight, he's having trouble sighting it in. We get the 20 yd set then add the calibration tape, by the time he gets to 60 yds he has very little clearance between his sight body and the arrow, any suggestions?

I jumped on this sight first time you & mfjj did a video looking it over. Just wanted to share a bit of info. I wanted a .019 pin size was sent the .010 (didn’t have a .019 to swap) i called spot hogg to see if they could change pin size, they said yes ship them the pin guard only & cost $25, which was better than waiting 6 months for custom order. You can also customize colors. Had it back in 10 days. Just another option if you can find one & want different pins. Great video always helpful, hope this info can help as well!

I wonder how much yardage you’d gain on your bottom pin as a floater if you sunk it as far into the housing as possible. You could sight in 40 on it bottomed out then adjust the other two pins for 20/30 & then find sight tape.

I had the fast Eddie XL and when I ran it all the way forward it was so heavy I didn't need a front stabilizer, just a rear one to compensate. Lol. Ended up running it back to the riser and wondering why I got so much more accurate! Ha

I heavily considered this sight but the weight concerned me slightly before their 4-6 MONTHS wait time scared me into ordering a Black Gold Dual Trac. The sad thing is I'll end up with a random pro shop in stock sight for spring bear hunting before I ever see my BG in the late season this year. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

The scope housing on the triple stack is bigger, but the MRT ring on the 2 pin is the same size as the smaller MRT ring that comes with the triple stack. Unless you're using the small single ring on the 2 pin, the size you see in your peep is the same.

What about shimming the base with emery paper to plum the rail? This is an issue with the spott Hogg. I have the 5 pin. So beyond 60 I shoot it in to see how much drift there is at impact.

Always liked spott hogg sights. Started with a fast eddie xl. Did not like how heavy they are. Switched to an UV3 for 3d and the UV3XL for hunting. I personally can't shoot multi pins cause everything blurrs. Still an excellent sight. Off topic of this video though. Whats a good work out routine for someone who only has a curling bar with 25# weights and a set of 15# dumbbells?? Also im doing push ups ,sit ups, pull ups.. really want to work my upper body this off season. Not for bulk necessarilly but definition...???

Unfortunately never got to it, a bit of a hassle to get rid of the old one but honestly hunting primarily Ontario game, with how thick the vegetation is, the double stack does just fine for me. Anything past 50y I can range and slide to the exact dial. Two pins cover the white tails out of a tree saddle ranges for me just fine.

So when you sight in your triple stack you use your top pin to sight in at 20 then at 60 with your top pin. After that can you use your third pin for your slider or is your slider your top pin?

Throw your tapes on a good color copier, that way when you switch bows around in the future you’ll have a full set of tapes.

Very important question here. So I am confused, I want to purchase this sight but there’s something I can’t understand and I haven’t seen anybody explain it yet. Once you set those pins and the pointers to let’s say 20 30 40. When you want to slide out and shoot let’s say 82 yards which pin is your floater?! Bc that kind gap will not be the same once you do any sliding. Your arrow will fall much more between 70 and 80 opposed to 20 and 30 so I don’t see how you could slide it and all three pointers still be accurate. And guys say oh well you just shoot the bottom pin for the floater or whatever pin for your floater how do you know which pin should be your floater or which pin is accurate when being slid Bc like I said that gap won’t correlate at longer distances so how do you know which pin to use as floater I hope someone understands what I’m trying to say and would care to explain to me I’d sure appreciate it.

I'd suggest to use the bottom pin as the floater.

The pins will still be accurate to their pointers, but the yardage separating them will drop. My pins are 20/30/40. With the bottom pin set to 100 yards my middle pin is 92 and the top is 86. When shooting past 40 my bottom pin is the floater.

Probably best. I just got one a month ago and already sold it. First issue is they weigh a metric ton, second being that they like to creep yardage. I have read about a number of people with the same issue. I had to have the tension screws and the lock lever cranked down to all heck for it to not move... and that made it being a slider almost pointless because it was that stiff. I took it apart and tried numerous things to get it to lock better... its just a weak locking system since it doesn't lock the gears, and is friction based with smallish contact points... kinda like a drum brake. It drove me insane for a day or two when I didn't realize it was creeping. I thought i couldn't shoot worth a damn... but it wasn't me, it was the sight creeping on me. They are well built, tough, and the pins are great. Its a great concept too, but the locking mechanism is lacking. I have since bought a landslyde and am waiting on that. I run axcel on my 2 target bows and they are unbeatable, so i am hoping for the same. Also was looking at the BG dual trac, as they look excellent. HHA is another serious contender. I never gave them much attention as I have been mainly shooting competitively the past 5 or 6 years and not hunting... but with a desire to hunt again, I have been catching up on who makes the best gear and HHA is on the short list. Spot hogg makes great stuff don't get me wrong. I use their swap target rests and they are phenomenal. I think they have some sights that use a gear lock also. My hunting bow is a PSE and they are known for vibration so maybe thats part of the problem... but a buddy that shoots a phase 4 also said he had it creep on him after 10-20 shots..... that alone is a no-go for me on any sight. They HAVE to hold zero with no issues. Some people don't seem to mind, but coming from years of target, that is just not okay with me. Anyways, are you liking the black Gold still?
