Don’t worry the cost of living in the US will hit them. We have family in Austin Tx and the price of shopping etc is very high even with their higher salaries so it’s all relative.

the master is downstairs so you can "age in place" so when you're older you won't have to worry as much abt getting up the stairs or falling.

In the US, or Texas anyway, a room is classed as a bedroom if it has a closet in it, not a toilet. My kids didn't have ensuites in their bedrooms. It always amazes my UK family and friends just how much house you can get in Texas for your money. Yep, that's the dining room, you can always tell because of the low hung light, it goes over your table. My friends use theirs as dining room, office, music room (they have a grand piano!!) If you use it as a sitting room or snug, make sure to lift the light, I've lost count of how many times my son (6'4") has walked into low lights. My suggestions for your furniture, if you're buying new, is Rooms To Go or Gallery Furniture (the owner Mattress Mack is a Houston legend and a lovely person), although the furniture there does tend to be dark woods. The grass is horrible here in Texas, watch out for fire ants and ant piles in general. And in the case of your dogs, fleas! This was such a nice vlog, watching you play with your boys rather than just ignoring them to continue vlogging. I really hope you love it here as much as we do, it's not perfect but life is what you make it.

Sevine Dust is the best to put out around your lawn before summer begins (when it warms up all the insects come out). It will get rid of fleas, etc…

My daughter in the uk has their master bedroom en-suite downstairs and her 2 daughter sleep upstairs. They use baby cameras in each room coz she like you didn’t like the idea of being on different levels. The children were only 2 and 3 but now they’re 6 and 7 and still use them. As soon as the girls go to bed they put the cameras on 😊 give it a go you never know 😊 beautiful house, you’re so lucky 😊xx

Beautiful!! We lived in Texas (Katy, Houston) for a few years when our children were young and loved it. Keep a close eye out for water moccasins with being close to the water, we had a few near misses. We also used to get turtles come from the lakes into the garden which the kids loved! X
