Ive been bestfriends with this girl for years. Since we were freshman in high school. I fell for this girl within the first 2 months we started talking. Hey man, I know this is an old comment but I met a guy when I was in 1st grade on my 1st day at a new school. He was in 2nd grade. I had an instant crush. We weren't really friends. I moved away for a few years and came back for high school, ended up at the same one as him. We still weren't really friends but hung out with the same people and would cross paths. I remember seeing him across the parking lot of my school and thinking wouldnt it be weird if we ended up married one day? After high school I met a different guy, had a baby and got married. When we got divorced a few years later, we connected again through a dating app and he confessed to having a crush on me all these years too. Things fizzled out, it wasnt the right time. We each started dating someone else and when I found out she was pregnant, I figured it would never be. A few weeks later I woke up to a random text from him telling me she dumped him and wanted to raise the twins separately. I was in a relationship still and said I'm sorry but I cant. A week later, my own partner dumped me. 2 weeks later we met up and have been together for almost 2 years now. And we have already talked marriage. My point is, even though marriage is supposed to be forever, sometimes it's not. Never lose hope for a one day, but dont stop living your life in the meantime.
