One of the greatest pieces of wisdom I ever received is that people don't think about you even one-tenth as much as you think about you, and that goes double at work. She's coming up with all these scenarios and worrying about trust, meanwhile the extreme likelihood is her co-workers will go "Huh, neat" or "Hmm, too bad" and then go on about their day, without giving it another thought. In this particular instance, she can take solace in this fact: people almost always just don't give a darn, they have their own worries and concerns.
