Hi Elly, have you ever been a school teacher? So far, I find your soap making video THE BEST and how you lay out the calculations and writing them out with the formula like I do when I try to break it down for myself or others. You have made it so easy for the layman to understand and a joy to learn. Thank you so much and please keep the videos coming!!!:)

Thank you so much Connie! I did study one year of education at university, but then switched to another degree. My current profession has some cross-over with teaching for sure. It's also hereditary. My father is a tradesman but natural teacher and I take after him quite a lot in that respect. Thanks for your lovely feedback :)

This was the exact calculation I was searching for, even though I’m using it for candles. Every guide on using essential oils usually just tells you how many drops to use in a recipe but that’s useless if you’re wanting to be accurate and/or create your blends in bulk for multiple candles/soaps etc. So thank god I found this, it was so easy to follow! Hi Elly I hope you don't mind me adding this. For people who may get confused with moving the decimal point they can just put in 3 divided by 8 then push the percentage button this will give 37.5 no need to worry about moving the decimal point. This works all the way through and also 800 x 3 press the % percent key = 24 and 24 x 12.5 Press % percent key = 3 Regards Peter
@EllysEverydaySoapMaking4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Peter, I appreciate that! I had forgotten how to use the percentage button, and find my brain works best with moving the decimal point. Only working on very basic high school maths here unfortunately.

19:31 August 2024. Just getting into soap making, and one of the reasons I like it so much is that the entire process is chemistry and math. I was a chem and bio major in college and then later became a math teacher, so of course it is my milieu. However, I am careful to watch all of your videos and take notes, just to be sure I have that little review. Your teaching style is so straightforward, generous, and also, correct on all of these math concepts. This makes me trust you, and it also makes you stand out from the rest of the very nice, but sometimes mathematically challenged, KZbin soap makers. Thank you!

Thank you. Yes it's hard to see all of the videos unless you go to the main channel page and navigate from the videos page from there. KZbin only shows you what it thinks you want to see! Unless you go looking. I've got many of this style of 'how to' video. Hope you can find them. I'd look further here if you are interested kzbin.info/door/qsvmrjWY7fPcKqWHnYVTMAvideos

Nice, clear explanations. I do my blending this way myself. Math is so hard for some, you have excellent examples.

Aromatherapy charts explain which oils have which notes, each has. Because for example, top notes are likely to have disappeared by the time soap cures Love your videos!!
