Thank you again for uploading this video. I was fixing an early model Elna which has the same bobbin case as your video. When I opened the machine and saw the loose bobbin plate and spring lying in the bottom of the machine I thought it was broken and unrepairable. Your video was exceptionally clear and helpful, and I could have never guessed the small fixing screw had an eccentric doughnut. Thanks to you I was able to repair, adjust and set the proper bobbin tension and now it works great. If you hadn't put this video up on KZbin, I would have never thought it was repairable. THANKS for your clear steps, your captions, and for sharing !!!

I have an Elna Carina with the same bobbin case. I was able to fix it with this video. I really appreciate the help! Saved me lots of money by being able to repair it myself.

Thank you, thank you. My wife pulled the bobbin apart to clean it but forgot how to re assemble it. With out a service book we had no idea! Thank you very much for this post.

Hi there! Thanks so much for this video. I still have a question. There is a plastic black ring that goes under the upper part of the bobbin case. How should I assemble that one? It´s got two holes that coincide with the screws in the metal bobbin case that goes on top. However, once I screw them together I can´t fit the case. Should I put the black ring first in a particular position? Thanks a lot beforehand! Desperate to put it back together and start sewing here. :)

Looks like theyre about $200 online. Yikes! Parts aint cheap for these old ones I just paid almost $90 for a reproduction needle plate. Without it it wont sew.
