Joey didn't track those songs to a click, which gave him freedom to change the tempo according to the dynamics of the songs. But Jay is not doing that here. It's very clear.

Eloy’s video is recorded with a very simple room mic while jay was micd up. Even that double foot cam, Eloy’s is more powerful and precise. Can’t wait for pro shot footage

You can hear that Jay doesn't break through the bass drum.He weakly knocks on the drum trigger sound. When Eloy hits the drum, you can hear a booming bass. It is clearly visible that one has thin legs. The other has more powerful ones.

I believe Jay is a Machine as well! I don't believe Slipknot was the right band for him though after months of observing and holding opinions. I believe he really did pay tribute to Joey and gave everything he had to secure not just a Grammy but Slipknot's eventual departure from their label Roadrunner, making them an 'Independant Empire'. I'm not undermining Eloy's abilities whatsoever but Jay is also part of the reason why Slipknot is as big as it is today.. There is no doubt that the Grammys will be all over Slipknot's ass when they release the new shit but I've seen that Jay is a super move for any Band to hire. He's a skilled drummer who has lightning fast chops and ferocious speed, Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves are amazing picks for him but he deserves a lot more. Eloy however combines the best of both worlds.. I have been a Fan of Eloy Casagrande since he first joined one of my Favourite Bands 'Sepultura', even then he made Iggor Cavalera really bitter because he was all 'Too Technical, No Feel'. Eloy has both but also something not many drummers have.. Power and Complete Control. It was a smart business choice to choose Eloy. He's proven himself over the years that he would be an ideal candidate but we got to remember that Jay has been a part of the Slipknot Family since he was a kid, He was the planned candidate to replace Joey with or without his Condition unfortunately so that proves how cut-throat the industry and slipknot are. I applaud Eloy and cannot wait to see what he does but all of you in this comment section need to praise Jay more...

Let's be honest: Jay is a good drummer and was a 'worthy' replacement for Joey. I was pretty damn pissed when he got fired, like many fans. But with Eloy they got things back on track. I would still love to know why Jay was fired.

Eloy hits about 4x harder, and way more closely resembles joey behind the kit in terms of his showmanship. Jay played the parts fine but didnt bring much to their live shows imo. It was kind of like when Korn and lamb of god replaced their drummers, new guys play the parts but dont add any creativity to the new songs
