Elton wrote the words in the 3rd verse of this song and he has always said he did a poor job compared to Bernie, but I think he did just fine. It's actually my favorite verse in the song.

I love that verse, but now that you mention it I can definitely hear it. It's all perfect rhymes whereas Bernie tends to use more poetic family rhymes.

@@louisgreubel742 Or maybe you are attracted to cliches. Elton was correct. He wrote obvious sentiments that lack poetic sensibilities. Bernie could communicate with nuances (and sometimes silly abstractions that seemed psuedo-surreal).

@@thelandoffandom7617 io credo che molto dipenda anche da tutta quella merda che si è ingerito tra gli anni 70 e gli 80, tanto che già dai primi anni 80 il timbro già era diverso ed ha continuato a cambiare fino alla fine dei primi anni 2000 in cui si è praticamente stabilizzato... Dopo l'operazione dell'86 ha perso l'uso del falsetto, ma comunque non ho mai visto nessuno cambiare voce nel modo in cui lo ha fatto lui... Guarda Stevie Wonder ad esempio, canta a 70 anni esattamente come faceva a 20

it does say in the title that it's been remastered, so my guess is that the video is digitally enhanced.

I'm pretty sure this is from the master copy that was released a few months back. There's probably some remastering at work but it's also probably just the original, pre-broadcast video tape master in really good condition not having been played much at all over the years.
