Elton John is the greatest singer, song writer, piano man that has ever been. His career has been one of great talent from the beginning to this day. His works are incomparable to any and will remain unmatched he is a music icon that is the greatest gift England has given to the world. His great works with his aids foundation reach around the world. There will never be another such talent as his. His integrity and heart are great, just as his music. When Sir Elton John was born the mould was broken. We have been lucky to have his music all of our lives. Great love Sir Elton to you and your beautiful family. Many more years....

Lord have mercy, Sir Elton's pipes are insane and richer in tone than ever. As to his skills on the 88s, what can be said other than this is one in a lifetime talent and Sir Elton knows (Just like Sinatra knew) that when you're surrounded with huge talent as he is here with full orchestra and choir - it's a tsunami of sound that could not sound any better.

Elton John is the best singer, song writer, work on the lion king, aida and in and on. This man is a great gift that England has given to the world. His talent goes Unmatched from the beginning of his career to this day. When he was born the mould was broken. We will never see a talent of his caliber again. His generous foundation for the victims of aids and others show his integrity and his good heart. Great love to you Sir Elton John, and to your beautiful family. Many more years.........

1:07...Holy Moses ! Let's take it to church. Not too many pop songs that fit a choir any better. I think his older and wiser voice grew more poignant over the years. This song is from 1970 and it carries a simple message...treat everybody with respect. It's soon to be 2020, that's 50 years and we still have a lot of trouble getting the message. Let's do better starting now.

On this day in 1970 {August 15th} Elton John performed "Border Song" at the Yorkshire Folk, Blues, & Jazz Festival at the Krumlin Barkisland Grounds in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England... Across the pond in the U.S.A. the song was in its first week on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #93; two days later it would peak at #92 {for 1 weeks} and it stayed on the chart for five weeks*... Later in 1970 on November 15th Aretha Franklin's covered version of the song entered the Top 100 at position #74; four weeks later on December 13th it would peak at #37 {for 2 weeks} and would spent seven weeks on the chart... * For three of the five weeks that Elton's version was on the Top 100, it was at #93...

On this day in 1970 {August 25th} Elton John began a seventeen-night run at The Troubadour in Los Angeles, CA... He was introduced by Neil Diamond {the 1st night}; and in the audience were Leon Russell, Quincy Jones, and future Eagles member Don Henley... Three days later "Border Song" would enter Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart for a five week stay, peaking at #92... And three months later on November 28th "Your Song" would make the Top 100 and become his first Top 10 record, reaching #8...

@GeminiSpaceship Whilst it is a much less clean voice than it used to be it's actually surprisingly very close to the original pitch. I've heard him sing as high as a Bb above middle C in the last few years (in levon). But yes, the falsetto is definately nothing compared to what it used to be.
