Hi, the lyrics do reference Bill Haley and His Comets song Rock around the Clock which came out in the 50s which is the era Happy Days is themed on so that’s why it sounds like a 50s song. If you saw the Lion King then you would have heard Elton. He wrote the songs Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Circle of Life, Hakuna Matata and other songs from the movie with Tim Rice.

Elton John is an icon. A musical genius.

You are just too irresistibly cute reacting to this! Elton John is a MAJOR rabbit hole to go down! He is a musical genius - one of the greatest composers of popular music of all time! Good Bye Yellow Brick Road, Your Song, Rocket Man, and Daniel… are among my favorites. I’m seeing him perform in DC in September - bought the tickets over a year ago!

Probably my favorite Elton John song; though when I was younger, I was baffled by him cramming the entire word 'crocodile' into a single syllable.

Elton is a beast on his piano, just like Billy Joel is. Great performer!

"Flashback in Time". What's significant about remembering good times is having them to remember. Not everyone does. I know I was lucky in "Life" and I never forget that. Fun reaction by you. Very energetic.

Good morning buddy! This is a great way to start my day off with some Elton John! Everytime I hear this song, I always seeing Elton performing the song with The Muppets LOL! Elton has a lot of classics. And also, you're on point on Rock Around The Clock being a Happy Days song because they used it as a theme for the first season (or first couple episodes) before they changed it. Thanks buddy for making my morning better. 🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽

Should be noted that Bill Haley's follow-up to "Rock Around the Clock" in 1956 was "See You Later, Alligator (After a While, Crocodile)"

Elton is very...all over the place. Other than great singing and amazing music, he doesn't have a style or sound. Crocodile Rock is a very 50s style Rock and Roll song, but even on this album you have 'Blues for Baby and Me' (a sort of rock ballad), Texas Love Song (a tongue in cheek shit-kicker country song), Have Mercy on the Criminal (dramatic storytelling) and Daniel (sad story telling). Also oddly, the entire album is great...every song.
@Ocrilat2 жыл бұрын
If you listen to full albums, you'll find this. Very eclectic music styles, and most if not all the songs on each album being good to great. This holds true especially when he was with this band (1972-1975, 1983-1984), plus they worked very quickly. Each of these albums were written, recorded and produced in two weeks or less. From 1969-1976 he released 1-2 records every year. So 1-2 albums for 1969-1976 and 1978-1986. He released 2 albums in 2021 lol.
