It has been said many times "truth is stranger than fiction." Elvis's life with all its peaks & valleys was a story no one would believe if written as a Make-believe novel, but here it is, he lived it! Good, bad,happy, sad, it's all there. An unbelievable combination of extreme good looks, & God given talent but much unhappiness & pain. Rest in peace Elvis. You gave us so much.

A movie is a movie to spice up the story line, period. A documentary is a documentary possibly with alterations for political reasons. Sometimes to alter the perseption for history purposes. Unless Elvis and Priscilla approves the script they want told, it is just someone else version of what they see through their eyes. Also to consider is the forces of the things going on in that that time period has a lot to do with the outcome of things. We all are human and make mistakes even for the person who thinks they are the most righteous. Life is fluid ever changing sometimes from minute to minute. Each of us can only do the best we can with what we are given at the time. So as Elvis poem goes he liked to recite: help your brother along the way, because the same God that made you also made him. I choose to remember him for this poem & the joy and giving this man had given to millions, And his music keeps giving to the world. Let us be kind & remember him for these reasons.

@@ruthbashford3176 , here we go again. We now have the evidence: Barbara Leigh and Joyce Bova. @@M355IAH If the stories about Elvis's abuse of drugs are true then Elvis wasn't having sex with anyone because his equipment just wouldn't work. Because Barbara Leigh, Joyce Bova and Linda Thompson say something doesn't make it true. I don't know the truth and Elvis is not here to give his side of the story. However what I do know is that Priscilla cheated on Elvis when they had been married a year and left Elvis for a married man who had a pregnant wife and small child. Priscilla has also gone back on the 'Elvis wouldn't have sex with her after Lisa was born' which makes her a liar. Not only is Priscilla a liar, she is a despicable greedy woman who, in my opinion, knew she wasn't going to stay around long the day she married Elvis!
@M355IAH
@M355IAH 4 жыл бұрын
@@ruthbashford3176, your comment above is full of contradictions to say the least. Either you are daft or you don't know that drugs similar to viagra existed during Elvis' time to help him get his "equipment" up. The way you have your head way too deep buried inside your.... shows that (forget Barbara Leigh, Joyce Bova and Linda Thompson), even if GOD or Elvis came to you and said that these aforesaid ladies were saying the truth, you would still have your doubts and live in denial. Elvis doesn't need to get his side of the story out all the time; we know from people who were there beside him just how we found about all those prescription drugs he took, which was a surprise in 1977 to all outside Graceland. Priscilla did not cheat on Elvis first - get your facts straight. If Elvis could kiss women from stage on camera, while married (which in all fairness, he was doing before he got married), he could do alot more behind those cameras - and he has. What Priscilla did was also wrong but any other woman in her shoes would have either shot Elvis as the faithful husband he never was or killed herself - she decided to live, and at that instant, unfortunately, Mike Stone took advantage of Priscilla's will to live on by filling up the void which Elvis had created by being away on "tours. Mike Stone was also married and had a family to think of which he didn't but it's easier for us to sit here behind the comfort of our smartphone / computer and point finger at one person only; i.e., Priscilla, when both Elvis and Priscilla were at fault in their own unfaithful ways. If Priscilla is adjudged "greedy" for saving Graceland for us fans, then so be it, but don't come here and act like you have never been "greedy" in your life. I have never come across or read anywhere Priscilla going back on her words about Elvis not having sex with her after birth of Lisa Marie, but if she said it as you have alleged in your comment above, then I don't know what her reasons for that was either but that doesn't make her a liar if and when she may have an innocent explanation for the retraction of her previous statement. And funny how you so heavily depend on Priscilla's statements, yet, don't believe the other things she has written but want to believe whatever bad you can take from her statements, etc. You know, you are an idiot. Here is the reason why: If Priscilla had stayed with Elvis, then she would have had complete control over all of his things, inter alia, after his death (Priscilla and those close and around Elvis like Red and Sonny West knew Elvis was going out soon if he did not get off those "drugs"), more than she has now (but still would be blamed for Elvis' death regardless by people like you), but she chose to live a normal life by going away from him into the real world and that makes her "despicable" and "greedy"? Okkkkk... Perhaps you have never been cheated on or you are probably into and perfectly fine with those swinger parties. Also, you act like you could have done better than Priscilla when deep inside your black heart you know you couldn't have - but yes, you could have made it worse than it already was. Have a good day.

@@M355IAH can I just say 👏🏻 I’m in complete agreement with everything you said. It’s so stupid how people blame her for “cheating” when he cheated the whole time they were practically together. I’m not saying she was right to do it because cheating never is, but like you said she was extremely lonely, made to feel an outcast from her own husband and yes I do think Mike Stone took advantage of that, but people only ever want to blame her for everything. It’s a heartbreaking story and both sides are very sad, but like you said at the end of the day she had kept his memory alive. I do believe they genuinely loved one another so much but between the drugs, other women, her infidelity (albeit the one guy but still), him always away, and even when he was home he was high or they never had any time for themselves, it just tore their relationship apart. And as for the whole sex after Lisa was born, she said “you haven’t REALLY wanted me sexually”. She never said “you haven’t touched me at all” or something to that affect, granted I haven’t read the book to know if the wording is different there but in this movie that’s what she said.

Priscilla loved Elvis so much that she started an affair with her dance teacher just a year after she married and when Priscilla was just 3 months old. And she's told so many lies about him it's difficult to know what to believe. For example the one about Elvis not wanting sex with her after Lisa was born, she's gone back on that and says they did have sex.

Then the lady asked her, but I thought you didn't have sex together after Lisa was born. Priscilla said well we had our own way, but that she knew what the lady was asking and wasn't going to get into personal. She didn't do what you are claiming, she said they had their own way when it came to the sexual side of their relationship. There is a full lifetime of stories she has shared over many years. Just like anyone else you may mess up when retelling a story. She has also admitted to making many mistakes. I'm not sure how you can say you love Elvis when you hate someone he loved so much. He wouldn't stand for it if you had actually been in his inner circle.

Looking back he was one lucky guy. He started out in the 1950's, he continued to perform, he got "Paid", and so many folks who started out the same time he did can't get "arrested" musically the way he did. He didn't go to Prison, he didn't die in a Plane Crash, he kept his relationship with Priscilla a Secret for a very long time, etc. Can you imagine 14 Years of a Love Affair finished just like that. He never got over her leaving him. "They're Starting My Song" Elvis that's not your Song, it's a Blues Classic you covered he could have said "They Are Starting The Show With The First Song I Sing when I start a Show."

As a Women, Pricilla just wanted to LOVE ELVIS ,and of course, it would be very hard to cope with, knowing "your husband, is sleeping with other women ",,, i personally think, she did the right thing!!!!!!!!!. I think deep, down " they still had real love for each other, but it wasn't going to work as a Marriage, for Pricilla", she just wanted to be a wife and a mom !!!!!!!!. Elvis wanted to be loved " unconditionally ", like his Mom did, but being a Mom,and a wife are completely different. My opinion only. GOD BLESS.

This tv movie about Elvis, for me, is above all the rest. Another good one is a short lived tv show called Elvis: The Early Years. Any production backed by Priscilla is usually good and I would think more accurate. The actor who portrays Elvis in Elvis and Me is really good. He doesn't turn it into a caricature or go overboard. I always remembered Dale Midkiff because of this movie. Michael St. Gerard and Dale Midkiff have done the best portrayals I've seen of Elvis and do justice to his legacy.

Michael St. Gerard was goodin the 90s series 'Good Rockin' Tonight', as he looked, talked and moved like Elvis. Dale Midkiff, on the other hand, was hopeless at recreating any of those things. He was completely miscast, in my opinion.

@@stephenalanmoore7278 I think you're right. Since my post, I've seen the movie with Kurt Russell from 1979 and like his portrayal. So now, I would say the best portrayals of Elvis, so far, have been Michael St. Gerard and Kurt Russell. In that order.

@@autumnstevens8715, oh ffs. "Elvis didn't want to marry her, Elvis didn't want to marry" is all I hear, yet Elvis Presley was so not in love with Priscilla that he did not use a condom on the wedding night and willfully impregnated Priscilla. Couldn't have Elvis saved up his seed for the woman he would finally marry after divorcing Priscilla within a month of their marriage (assuming, he was allegedly only threatened with suit, in case, he did not marry Priscilla, but no one was going to sue him if he didn't have children with Priscilla right)? You all see that Elvis did not want to marry to make Elvis impeccable, but forget that Elvis did knew about condoms but chose to impregnate Priscilla because there was indeed love.

Dale Midkiff portrayed Elvis beautifully. He was great. I feel that the stage was the happiest for Elvis with the exception when his mother was alive. Elvis and Priscilla were truly in love, but the drugs were to much a part of Elvis's life. I don't understand when Elvis had certain shows to do he could stop the drugs and lose weight. Another downfall was Parker his manager. If only Elvis would have let him go. He was very unhappy. Rest in Peace 🙏 Elvis. I will always remember you.
