Spa Guy, you are absolutely the King of all things Elvis! Yep, the king of the King. When you bring us an Elvis video it is done with the heart and mind of someone that truly loves Elvis. You know what we are thinking and What we want to see. I love it when you take pictures and pair them up with exact duplicates from the original Elvis Pic. And the fact that you want to step into the picture and take one of yourself “being Elvis” just shows how much you love him too. Thank you so very much! We all appreciate you more than I even know how to say. Much love.I’M A FAN OF “THE KING OF ALL THINGS ABOUT THE KING. “👑 👑👑👑👑

Billy, you never cease to amaze me. I kid you not when I tell you that the hair on the back of my neck stood up. The impact of Bad Nauheim on Elvis was profound. He worked on his voice, met Priscilla, Vernon met Dee, he added Joe Esposito and Charley Hodge. Red and Lamar were there, too. From what I have seen in your fabulous videos is that it is a very picturesque city. The Salt Walls are really cool, too. I never knew of such a thing, but now I would like one in my back yard, LOL!! Billy, this was Elvis archeology at it’s very best. Tighten Up, TCB⚡️ and SGF!!!

One of the most exciting videos you’ve made, at least for me. Circa 1959, I stood at the base of those steps and gawked at Elvis as he stood on the stoop just outside the door into the house. Being only 10 at the time, Elvis had a huge impact on my life. Even then, I listened to his records and had seen 3 of his 4 movies, and now, here he was, standing right before me. I remember seeing the white sports car and vaguely remember him saying he didn’t like it very much and jokingly, my dad offered to trade his 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air for it and I believe Elvis was tempted! On a subsequent visit to Ray Barracks, we caught Elvis driving out in a black Mercedes. I wonder if it was the one in your still photograph? At that time, he had a young lady with him and I have often wondered if it could have been Priscilla. Wonderful memories, Spa Guy! Thank you so very much!

That girl could have been Elisabeth as well.. If you knew about what month that would help nail down who it was.. Most likely Elisabeth..
@drphil19496 жыл бұрын
That was such a long time ago! Elvis was in his fatigues and his hands were dirty. He was driving off-post, so he had been working. I believe my dad referred to it as a "G.I. party." The young lady was wearing glasses, I believe. Have no recollection what month it was. Thank you so very much for your response!

The house is historically, very significant, due to Elvis meeting Pricilla there. Not only that, it was there the seminal stages of Elvis’ big love affair were forged. Pity you couldn’t go inside and investigate the rooms Billy ;) - fascinating stuff. It would be great if you were to develop these episodes of Elvis’ life into books. There’s too much for a single book of course, but you could publish several volumes. ‘In the footsteps of the king’ The period he spent in Germany would be especially interesting because little is known of his life then.

Just like Elvis's first house in Memphis, the neighborhood now looks so much greener, more lush and prettier with all the trees than when Elvis lived there in the Army. When the Glory was looking out toward that smoke stack, somewhere out there was the old Sgt Alvin York Housing area (For US Soldiers & our families) where I lived in 1980-83. It has all been torn down now and German homes stand where our buildings were. There USED to be an Army PX/Commissary right on the corner, of the main street that by passes it and the entrance street. There are pictures on Elvis shopping IN that old PX. Thanks Billy :)

The street is pronounced “Gerta strah-za.” When I was stationed in Germany from 1990 - 1993, my wife and I went on a trip to find this house. This is a neat find. A Dr. Mueller lived in the house in the early 90s.
Brilliant bit of detective work from the spa guy yet again,one question I have Billy is how far did elvis have to travel from the house to the army base?

Bad Nauhiem is my home town, actually they lived in another place before that house. They were kicked out do to their partying. When Elvis had his new ID card made there were 2 pictures that were produced one went on the and the other was usually discarded. My mom actually kept his other one. We still have it here.

I know he's passed now god bless him but I've never came across priscilla family side regarding elvis whom I'm sure would have lot's to tell if aloud.. but may be they just wouldn't.. anyway take care will look forward to more of your interesting facts

Question for Spa Guy or anyone else. Where was Elvis' first TV performance from? I thought it was in NYC but listening to the Elvis Quiz Show on XM/Sirius Radio they said it was from San Diego. Dorsey Bros show. Can anyone clear this up? Thanks and love the channel!!
@SpaGuy6 жыл бұрын
Elvis' first appearance on national TV was the Dorsey Brothers Show at CBS Studio 50. Nola Studios in New York.. January 28th 1956 He recorded Heartbreak Hotel on January 10th and it was released on January 27th.. It was the beginning of his fast rise to fame.. He was not allowed to perform Heartbreak Hotel until the trip show because it did not go well in rehearsal. He was paid 1250.00 for each of 6 shows done there and later that year The Ed Sullivan show paid him 50,000 for 3 shows at 16667.00 each.. An impact was made for sure that year..

That is quite a residential area, interesting to see, thank you. But omg, you should have learned at least how du pronounce Bad Nauheim (not like bad !!), Goethestraße (who does not know Goethe?), Uhlandstraße... when introducing these places. Also the French machine translation is hilarious 🤣, better you check before release. Would have been nice to find some people having seen Elvis at that time. Anyway, Elvis is still the best, and we love him! ❤️🇩🇪
