Me and my twin brother had the opportunity to visit M. Young museum last month (march 2022) during our trip to Memphis and we can say that this a real, decent, fine men (has Ed Sullivan would say). All kidding aside, Tennessee Ted has been really nice to us, we could have been there many more hours...A truly great gentlement! Best wish to you M.Young...hope you and your dad are doing well!! Pierre and Steve 😉

My daughter and I sat behind Ted and a couple of his friends at last years Elvis Week auction. We teased them that we better leave as they weren't getting the bid, and we were jinxing them. Later we were able to sit and visit with them in the lobby...such nice, knowledgeable collectors! Thank you Spa Guy for showcasing this amazing collection! Hope to see Ted again.

Thanks for sharing the second part to this story. This collection of Elvis items is the best I have ever seen. Mr. Ted has taken an enormous amount of time to collect and display every piece in such an organize way. Every piece has it's own place. The whole collection so far is just so incredibly beautiful. Thanks Mr. Ted, for allowing the Spa Guy, to film your awesome collection of our Elvis memorabilia. Thanks again Spa Guy. I look forward to part 3. Now I am going to look at part 1 again then follow with part 2. That will be an awesome way to get my Monday started.

This is really awesome. So much memorabilia. Love all the movie posters!!!! They're becoming a lost art. A lot of people dislike his movies, but I enjoy them all (maybe with the exception of Stay Away Joe...lol). They are what they are and, if you understand that, they're quite entertaining....some, obviously, more entertaining than others. Thanx for this entry. Looking forward to pt. 3.

Thank you Mr Spa Guy for part two of your fantastic interview with Mr. Ted Young. What a collection and Elvis fan. Was those pictures of Elvis and Priscilla's wedding in Las Vegas ? If I remember right they had a second wedding/reception for those in Memphis who were not invited or could not be at the Las Vegas wedding. If Elvis had given me something like that bracelet cuff I sure would of NOT gotten rid of it even if paid for it ! Be sure to tell Mr. Young thank you for sharing his collection with we the Elvis fans. Most of all thank you Mr. Spa Guy for your hard work in bringing things like this interview with Mr. Young to we the Elvis fans. Looking forward to part three. Keep tightening up. Be safe in all your adventures. Lord bless.

At the 4:50 mark, Ted has the years slightly off. Easy mistake to make 🙂Indeed the picture is with Governor (Tennessee) Frank G Clement. But it’s from Dec’ 21st ‘57. Elvis wore the Tux for the Opry, (which you are right Spa Guy) he was photographed with many people that night including Johnny Cash and Faron young. It’s believed Elvis threw the Tux away before returning to Memphis. There are accounts from that night from some of the guys who accompanied Elvis... Lamar Fike “After the Opry we went over to the governor's mansion to see Governor Frank Clement. We stayed up there until one o'clock in the morning playing the piano”. The Marigolds, (evolved from The Prison Aires), with lead singer Johnny Bragg, performed for Elvis at Governor Frank G.Clement's mansion. They sang Jailhouse Rock for Elvis, and he was impressed with their harmonies, and wanted to record with them, but apparently Colonel Parker did not consider this a good career move. Elvis joined them for a rendition of Just Walkin' In The Rain,a song Elvis did not record. Elvis and his party returned back to Memphis in the early hours of Sunday 22nd of December 1957. Billy Smith on the evening "We went to that party at the Governor's house later on, and I got tired and the Governor's wife told me to go on in the bedroom and go to sleep. She told Elvis "Just to leave him here,I'll put him on the bus tomorrow",and Elvis said "No,I will wake him when we are ready to go",but I never did go to sleep,I was afraid I might miss something" Great video, Teds a great guy 👍 3 rooms of heaven !

The Sun 78s at 15:25 are the items I'd most like to have for my own collection. I have the RCA reissues on 78rpm discs that came out in 1956 after Elvis switched labels. (The RCA reissues are actually quite hard to find, sometimes harder to find than the Sun copies.) But having the original Suns would be wonderful. Unfortunately, nice copies fetch north of $1000 each. The Sun 45s can actually fetch more, even though they do not sound as good as the 78s.

Spa Guy now I have to wait for the 3rd video to see what Ted did @ Graceland. It must be funny cause he was trying to put it off telling you with his gigglish laugh. Amazing what Ted has collected since 1968 and he must be a life long fan like so many of us. To think he used his first pay check to buy the Elvis album. Very interesting. As I was reading through the comments, I saw one that said The Roadrunner was his favorite cartoon. Not sure if you got to ask Tish about it yet?

I heard the story that Elvis went to the Governors Mansion and Billy Smith was there. Billy was so tired the wife of the governor told him to go lay down and he could stay there. But Elvis took him home instead. I believe the Prisonaires were there to perform. Maybe something to follow up on with the MMK.
