Spa Guy is a great Elvis historian. I enjoy seeing all of the places Elvis visited and things that Elvis did. He may have only lived 42 years but he lived alot. I don't think the man liked it when you said that the steering wheel was on the wrong side, Guess they can't take a joke, ha ha. I am glad that it is being refurbished and not being torn down. That's why it is so important to get this Elvis history recorded cause so many places are being torn down everyday. The photos of Elvis in the water looks more like Hawaii where the water is darker blue in color but it's really hard to tell because the water changes with the weather. The water looks more aqua blue in the Bahamas. Maybe the water was darker because bad weather was coming in. Wish that you could have gotten inside but still a great piece of Elvis history. Thank you so much Billy.

Always wondered about what that place looked like, guess they had a tropical storm come in while they was there, one of the MM members(maybe Joe) said that they had to stay inside the hotel and couldn’t enjoy the outdoors. Apparently the hotel manager held crab races inside to entertain them. Looks beautiful there, glad they’re only refurbishing and not tearing it down. Loved the video and pics you shared ❤

I have read that Elvis left his Bahamas vacation for two reasons: the weather got bad because of a hurricane and he felt there were racial tensions on the island. His original vacation was meant to be somewhere in Europe but of course Colonel told him not to do that

Hi Spa Guy, I had read years ago that Elvis had spent a vacation in the Bahamas but they never mentioned the name or location the article pointed out that it rained for all 10 days. A really great report from you and photo match up. I should imagine that the salt air probably ruins the hotel over a short period of time with metalwork rusting so refurbishing the hotel is great but it also takes away some of the original history of the place. Take Care

The reason we drive on the right is for one reason. So we could pass sword to sword and fight. The other reason as to why it is better is that most people are right eye dominant and you are fractionally less likely to have a crash.

Suspicious minds wasn't Elvis's first no1 since Good luck charm in 62 as Good luck charm was released in Feb 62 as Return to Sender was released at the end if 62 and it went to no1 and Crying in the chapel went to no 1 i in 65.
@SpaGuy10 ай бұрын
I didn't make the stats up this is what they say.. • Good Luck Charm: A year would pass before Elvis had another #1 single. “Good Luck Charm” replaced “Johnny Angel” by Shelley Faberas, his future movie costar, at the top of the Billboard pop chart on April 21, 1962. Elvis held the #1 spot for one more week, after which “Soldier Boy” by the Shirelles took its place. It was Elvis’ 13th #1 single. • Suspicious Minds: Seven long years of mostly forgettable single releases would pass before Elvis again topped the “Hot 100.” On November 11, 1969, “Suspicious Minds” squeezed ahead of The Temptations’ “I Can’t Get Next to You” to become Elvis’ 14th and last “Hot 100” #1 single. The very next week “Suspicious Minds” was knocked off the top spot by “Wedding Bell Blues” by the Fifth Dimension.

Spa Guy is right - Return to Sender hit #2 on the American Billboard singles chart. (It did go #1 on Cash Box, but Billboard was the standard and more popular.) As for Crying in the Chapel, it hit #3 in America (#1 in the UK, but #3 in US) Thank you Google!
@AmyWinehouse9and14.10 ай бұрын
@@SpaGuy Then whoever they are is incorrect as Return to sender was no1 at Christmas 62 in the UK and Crying in the chapel topped the easy listening charts in 65 for 7weeks.Maybe you're referring to a different chart.

@@kirkleythomas9280 How can he be right when you've just put Crying in the Chapel no1 in UK - which as 65.Also as I stated Return to sender was NO1 at Christmas 62 which was after Good luck charm.So That means he has 2 no1s inbetween Good luck charm and Suspicious minds....next time you Google search further.
