You are correct. Historically this home is important because its the first home Elvis owned. Elvis' birth home in Tupelo Miss was built by Vernon's father and Uncle Vester. On my first visit to Graceland in 1987, I met Uncle Vester who signed his book " A Presley Speaks" at the Heartbreak Hotel Restaurant across from Graceland. Although the "shotgun shack" is a simple dwelling Uncle Vester told me he preferred his native Tupelo to larger city Memphis. Only met Uncle Vester that one time, but like Elvis and his other family, he was very cordial and kind.

OMG! I just can’t believe that Sir Billy got first class tickets for the Audubon house and on the 200th episode of Elvis’s story. As I watched that I just shook my head in disbelief. Showing photos of Elvis there made it very real and It stirred up a few emotions. If I had the chance to do the same I don’t think I could leave..! To imagine Elvis slept and realised his achievement in that bedroom, sang throughout the home, made plans and talked to his Mum & Dad about what was happening in his life and so on is incredible! Sir Billy..You Got the Big One this time. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. 😇

Its heart wrenching what has happened to this house... I was fortunate enough to see this house inside and out in its original condition years ago when there was s house party celebrating Elvis in August. Partied with Richard Davis and quite a few other Elvis notables... Elvis' bed room was really something to behold and I believe it is no coincidence that Elvis liked bedrooms on the right corner front of his houses because Elvis' bedroom at Graceland is located in the same way... I'm sure its because he liked to see the fans who made it possible for putting him there....... Graceland should have bought this house years ago, along with Libertyland, Lauderdale Courts etc. and offered packaged deals... Maybe the house would never had caught fire... At least the outside is still original... But now its like Merle Haggard said when Merle revisited his childhood home..."Nothing is there anymore, not even the memories... " Its just not the same, everything seems to be just passing away and being forgotten, done away with... I will stop here because I'm starting to get depressed... Great video as always SpaGuy Too bad you couldn't have documented this house inside and out before it came to this... I thank God for all you do my friend! Best regards!

I was so jealous when my manager from A. Schwab's told me he went inside Elvis's house , Terry Saunders heir to the Piggly Wiggly store owns Schwab's ,she had just two tickets to get inside.. he told me you can walk freely about the house and get right up close to the wallpaper, he took pictures of himself standing next to the fireplace like Elvis... I thought to myself how could all these unsupervised college kids have access to this house.. one of the collage kids worked at Schwab's and I could tell you she was an airhead... I thought it wouldn't be long before Rhodes College wore this place out.... and the next thing I hear, it's burning down... I'm glad you got in there finally and I really appreciate all the up close details of Everything You video

Hello "Spa Guy". Nice report. I'm Rudi from Belgium and I have been an Elvis fan for 43 years. In October 2017 we went to the USA to visit most of the hotspots that deal with Elvis. When we visited the "Audubon" house, someone from the workmen came to me with a piece of wood from the eaves. So it was after the fire. It would normally disappear in the container. But he saw that I was an Elvis fan and gave it to me. We brought this to Belgium as a souvenir. So this is my unexpected story.

Billy, congrats on your 200th Elvis video. I have watched every episode. You do a great job and perform a wonderful service to the fans. Although the house is going through renovations, it’s exciting to know that you finally got in there. I had a similar experience in 1980 when I was in Elvis and Pricilla’s empty Hillcrest Road house in Bel Air. To the best of my knowledge, there were no renovations at the time but being vacant gives you a different and enlightening perspective. For me, I realized that even though Elvis was so famous, it was just a house...yes, big and expensive but just walls, a roof and a floor just like everybody’s. I had to laugh when I stood in the King’s bathroom and imagined Larry Geller dying and cutting Elvis’ hair! I still think you should make it out to Los Angeles. I have met several people in Elvis’ circle over the years but there are not many left. Congratulations again!

Great video Billy! But it's just heartbreaking to see how they have gutted the whole house. All the history is gone. I remember going in there when I was around 18 19 years old or so. I got to go into Elvis's room .There was still original wallpaper around the house. The room in the back still had the star-shaped lamp and also the trophy shelves. The pool wasn't tiled at the time. The history has just been taken out of that place. Did the fire really damage that much or did they just decide to gut it and do whatever they wanted with it? Kind of sad. Thanks for the great video once again.
