Elvis had it all. The whole package....good looks, charisma, the voice, sexiness, stage presence. Nobody since has had the whole package like Elvis. He was truly one of a kind.

It amazes me some people actually gave this a thumbs down. Don't they realize this was a rehearsal, not on stage. A glimpse into what went on behind the scenes. A treasure.
@patrick99222able9 жыл бұрын
Mary S Doesn't matter that people gave this rehearsal the thumbs down, Elvis sold more than a billion and a quarter records, more than any other artiste and in some cases more than any 20 or 30 artistes or groups put together. 50 million fans can't be wrong...
@CooManTunes9 жыл бұрын
+Patrick feenan 50 million? Really? That album came out in 1959. In 2015, the saying is 3 billion people can't be wrong.
@patrick99222able9 жыл бұрын
CooMan Tunes Yes, the cover of that particular LP [ SHOWING HIM WEARING THE GOLD SUIT ] stated that " 50 MILLION FANS CAN'T BE WRONG. " He had 50 million fans in 1959...all over the world...probably meaning that he'd sold 50 million different records from 1955 to 1959...far more after this LP was released...then a billion and a half up to 1977, up to his untimely passing. Of course, 50 million fans could have bought 25 different records each bringing it up to a billion and a half, but 3 billion fans up to 2015, are you having a laugh?
@CooManTunes9 жыл бұрын
Patrick feenan Out of the seven billion people on this planet, yes, I'm pretty confident that three billion of them are Elvis fans. More, most likely. In the words of the murderous and masterful Beatles producer Phil Spector, "He's a great singer. Gosh, Elvis is so great. You have no idea how great he is, really, you don't. You have absolutely no comprehension-it's absolutely impossible. I can't tell you why he's so great, but he is. He's sensational. He can do anything with his voice."
@patrick99222able9 жыл бұрын
+CooManTunes Well CooMan if you put it like that I have to agree with you. Spector is just stating what most of us Elvis fans think, he could sing anything. I remember someone saying once that " if he sang three blind mice " it would be a hit and We'll never see his like again...I just listened to the King sing the song I BEG OF YOU, ten times in a row there, great!!! Cheers you're a true Elvis fan...

That Face ! That marvelous face, so genuinely natural! I am so glad that this "performance" was not "lost" forever! It's interesting to watch how,even in rehearsal ,Elvis had the same soulful sound & the same persona, (although a little subdued ) that he had onstage & in front of his fans ! As always, he is funny, polite, humble & just amazing! " Elvis commented, at the end,-- "Terrible"- Ithink not! Au contraire-Absolutely marvelous , ABSOLUTELY ELVIS! Thanks for another great glimpse of our great & dearest friend!

I remember when that song came out in 1958. I bought the single and played it over and over. I thought he had the most amazing vocals on this song. But it was overlooked in the years following. In this video, I believe Elvis was trying to sing this after many years of not having sung it. I thought he did amazing. And he sung it right.

Elvis was going to have to show them how to play the chords to that song. All those little moments of him flinching towards the end were where they were missing those minor chord changes and drop downs. The guy had an excellent ear an sense of rhythm
@RaxOldies4 жыл бұрын
looked to me like he got a little jolt when his lips touched the mic..,made him jump back. But recovered right away to finish the song. And for all those who said he couldn't really play guitar....he was calling out the F chord at the end there !! The King.
@josephnelson25913 жыл бұрын
The decision to drop the key from D to C may have thrown the musicians off: they were used to hearing Elvis in a higher key and kept mentally playing the "right" chords. The thing is, these were Nashville pros, used to working with the Nashville Number System, so the change of key shouldn't have been a problem.
