LOVE! LOVE! LOVE this beautiful lady. She was a true triple threat. Gorgeous, Kind and Talented. Elvis made a huge mistake letting her walk away. She gave up a Hollywood career (that she obtained on her own) because Elvis called and told her he missed her. She walked off the set and came right back to Memphis. When she left him she became a teacher and married a professional football player (married until he died). A true lady.

Anita's truly a nice lady. Mindy Miller (a girlfriend around 1975) said Elvis wanted her to "walk off" a set to come see him. She said she'd have been blackballed in the industry if she'd left the set and explained that to him. He acknowledged that she was right and said he understood because he knew the possible repercussions. Sweet Anita took a big risk with her career for Elvis. I'm only now realizing what an ungodly amount of girls were throwing themselves at Elvis.

As a Mississippi girl myself, no doubt in my mind, this should have been his wife. Possibly his only chance at a normal relationship. One of his own kind who could have truly communicated with him and kept him in check…lol…He needed that level of accountability from a woman like his mother. It could have made all the difference for him. Sad!
@Politbarometer10 ай бұрын
Right, he just needed a girlfriend who is like a mother to him and that meant for him that he could continue with his cheating. What a bad deal for this wife, cause she gets nothing in return other than unfaithfulness, while she would have to take the full responsibility for the relationship and him being an eternal child. The problem was that he never grew up on a personal level. This was his responsibility. To compromise or to see eye to eye with a partner wasn’t his thing I guess. Sad, that he was so popular as a lover while in reality he treated his women so badly and traumatized them and women don’t recognize this imbalance until today.

@@Politbarometer Considering the EX had an affair of her own right after Lisa Marie was born with her dance instructor and then went on to have an affair with the then married Mike Stone who she later left Elvis for, there is no reason to feel badly for her. In addition, she was nearly 21 when she married him ( not his decision ) after having lived with him. She knew who she was marrying and was no kid when she decided to do so. Every other woman he had a relationship with also knew who he was and that he had women throwing themselves at him. Who knows if he would have tired of it had he lived longer than 42, but for a man in his 20's and 30's to live that lifestyle and with those temptations to expect him to change for anybody is ludicrous.

I always wondered how many times Elvis thought over the years how he made a mistake given up Anita she really loved Elvis she gave up her contract with Paramount Pictures she spent 5 years with Elvis. She waited with for Elvis while he was in the service she moved into Graceland and Gladys adored Anita that’s the woman she wanted him to marry. Elvis and Anita had so much in common especially religious beliefs but to give up so much of yourself than to hear Elvis couldn’t make up his mind must have hurt her deeply. I whole heartedly believe if Gladys would have lived Elvis would’ve never got involved with Priscilla. Things happen for a reason!

Good lord, that’s just begging for problems. He had every temptation in the world thrown at him 24/7 from women to drugs and power. It couldn’t have been easy, it’s amazing that he even made it to 42 in a lot of ways. He was literally the first huge rockstar with that kind of fame so he had no one to look up to. In his day, he was at the very top of the food chain so to speak. Today stars have plenty of examples of huge stars that came before them to learn from, unfortunately for Elvis he had no one really to confide in who understood the craziness of his everyday life, fame and pressures. His legacy lives on in his recordings , films and grandchildren. Sadly, Lisa Marie has passed too (his only child) so she’s now united with her son and father. Anita he should of married you and had a family like his mom wanted him to do things would of been diffrent

Pretty ironic how he let Anita go so he could date a 14 year old Priscilla, and in the end she cheated on him and left him for another man 😂😂.

Everyone keeps saying Elvis made a mistake by not marrying anita. But Lisa Marie would not have been born nor would her children be here. Im sure none of you would like it if everyone said your father should’ve married a different woman instead of your mother. If Elvis truly wanted anita, he would’ve stayed with her & not have had to make a choice . But he wanted someone pure & not someone who was already sleeping around with other guys. People can be so judgemental but Im so happy he had Lisa Marie & his grandchildren.

You need to read Child Bride by Suzanne Finstad. The pure one was Anita, not Beaulieu.

Nope - sorry, wrong, no woman could have changed elvis, and no woman with any grit or self-worth would have put up with his philandering ways.

Oh, no - he was more than a regular mortal … he was God to so many women. You can’t compare that status in life to some homey and anxious clerk. Choosing a man like Elvis was choosing a hard number to follow, but our hearts often don’t agree with reason. In that abyss lies the magic!!!

Well Elvis NEVER wanted to be tied down to any woman you should know this, he was greatest star in the world 😆
