D.J. Fontana may have been his drummer for awhile before the Las Vegas days, But, I believe from then on it was Ronnie Tutt...and, yes, they did a fun trying to out 'tire' each other!

Elvis did a lot of his own driving; as an example, he drove himself on to the MGM lot to go to rehearsals in the studio; the only time he was driven was after a concert because he was in no condition to drive. there's a photo of him driving back home after a dentist visit at 12:28 a.m. on Aug. 16 1977; he passed away around 2:30 p.m. that afternoon. Thank you.

Elvis usually drove himself except after performing... Cuz he'd be exhausted! Lol. He put so much of himself into every performance.... not surprised he'd be that tired.

I'm really enjoying your reaction to this documentary. Part 4 hasn't popped up for me yet, but I'm sure it will at some point. I hope you'll consider reacting to another documentary that covers Elvis' life from birth through the beginning of his career. I think you'd find it very interesting. It's called Elvis: Return to Tupelo (54:02).

He grew up dirt poor living in public housing. They said even then as a child he shared and gave away the very little that he had. He never forgot being poor.

That is not his drummer. Ronnie Tutt was drummer. This man was one of his famous guitarist.

This was D.J. Fontana who was Elvis' drummer from 1955 until he entered the military in 1958. He was also on the '68 Comeback Special. Ronnie Tutt was with Elvis from 1969 until his passing.
