I saw Elvis on Sept. 2, 1976, second row center. I was 19 … I’m 65 now. I didn’t get a kiss, but I did get a scarf. It was during his last song. When the first notes of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” played, the tears started flowing. I sat there crying as the realization that I wasn’t going to get a scarf invaded my thoughts. And then it happened. Our eyes met, he nodded at me as if to say, “This one’s for you,” and suddenly I was holding a turquoise scarf he had worn for two songs. It was wet with his sweat. Immediately, I felt a strong pull from behind me as a lady was trying to take it away from me. Now, I’ve never hit anyone … but I hit that lady HARD right square in the middle of her back and she let go. Several women tried to snatch it from me as we were exiting the venue, so I tied it around my neck. Sadly, I’ve moved so many times God only knows where it is. But I’ll have the memory until the day I die.

Elvis just adored his fans, he knew they were the ones who made him and loved his music, and he always got a kick out of their reacts. So he’d tease them in his shows, he said they brought out the ham in him, and likewise their energy would bring out moments like this... this one is the most I’ve seen in one concert. But it is all real. His musicians and back up singers said they always had to keep their attention on him to know the flow every moment, they never knew what he might do, that would change things up. His fans vibes that night I’m sure brought out this moment in time from him. He was extremely intuitive. Some said he knew what they were going to say b4 they got a chance to ask. All pretty much said everyone knew when he entered a room even when they had yet to see him. His energy was present and they knew it. In the gospel world we call that an anointing.

And there's one where it shows backstage after a big performance in Las Vegas and you see all the movie starts going backstage and congratulate him for his big opening night in Las Vegas this is after the 8 years of doing movie he was now performing back on stage and what started it was he did the 68 Come Back special and let's read lunch his career from the 1950s and in the 1968 Comeback Special it had such high ratings if that's what made him decide to go start performing on stage again and it started in Vegas and then all around the country and he was back again he could show that he still had that Elvis Mania power that he had in the 50s

Elvis went to the ones that were begging for s kiss in their demeanor. He didn’t kiss ones that didn’t long for it. Wait till you see the one were the young girl is crying, after he kisses a baby Lifted up to him, Elvis says to her; oh what’s the matter baby cause she’s crying, he just holds her hand, and then looks up at the audience while holding her hand and she’s crying, like he’s completely stunned. she answers him in the pause as he’s there stunned, “please kiss me”, as he gives her just a cheek kiss, she grabs ahold of his neck won’t let go, and you hear her on his mic, crying “I LOVE YOU”. her mom and others have to pull her off him. I’ll never forget in the late 50’s I was about 4 at the most, I saw him on TV while my parents were watching and I was so taken by him. I felt it intensely inside me, I was barely 4 years old and his impact via TV was stunning. I’ll never forget that moment.

Elvis specifically hired a guy to catch the women, who fainted after he kissed them. There is an hilarious photo of this woman, who never came round and was lying flat out on her back on a kind of stretcher, with Elvis sitting next to her, with a puzzled look on his face, wondering what he actually did?? It is hilarious!!

I was lucky enough to get a KISS from Elvis❤️ I was14💋. We went every year from 70-73. We always tipped enough to get to the front row. Charlie Hodge would give us a pass to come back to the Midnight Show. Midnight show we had to sit in one of the 2 assigned Red Booths that were designated for the girls invited back ❤️. When he walked out on that stage I couldn’t breathe. He was like an Angels walking out there! One of my friends and I were in the Lobby 6:30am to get through playing keno with CH. We told them we’re tired and we were going up to our room. The Elevator opened and out step Tom Jones with a few friends. He was very name. He asked if I would like a taste of his Champagne. I said I don’t drink. My friend said I want to taste it. So then I took a little taste. TJ said we are having a little party at Caesars Palace would y’all like to come. I said I don’t think my mom would like that. He talked another minute. Then said Goodbye. It was Great!

Great reaction! Thought it was both fun and funny. 😊 On the subject of the “Spider-Man” conundrum - you should check out his acceptance speech at the jaycees for winning one of Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Nation on January 16, 1971: “'When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was the hero of the comic book. I saw movies, and I was the hero in the movie. So every dream I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times. These gentlemen over there, these are the type who care, are dedicated. You realize if it's not possible that they might be building the Kingdom, it's not far-fetched from reality. I learned very early in life that: ‘Without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend, without a song', So I keep singing a song. Goodnight. Thank you'.” Curtesy of Elvis Australia Fanclub Additionally, you should look into the symbolism of both “TCB in a flash” and “TLC in a flash” 😊

Funny you should say from grandmother to granddaughter since that was literally the case in my family. My mother in her late 50s, my niece at 4 and myself at 17 all argued over which one of us loved him the most. Not very many men can turn mother against daughter or granddaughter. Just Elvis. He's the male Helen of Troy.

@trishf35762 жыл бұрын
This was not a normal occurrence. It was also Las Vegas so the audiences were a little more demure than on his tours. He was not being dirty - notice the little children who he kissed it was a little peck on the cheeks. He was not forcing himself on anyone!! Men wanted to kiss him too I would imagine!! It was harmless - was he faithful to his wife? Hell no but he was so loved and people wanted a souvenir- that's why women would get him to wipe his sweat on their scarves or wouldn't wash their faces after a kiss. Perhaps less cynical times and it was all in good humour and good taste.
