Matt is right. Elvis fans will tell you exactly how we feel. It comes from having the man who set the bar be your favorite. That is why Austin Butler deserved that Oscar; it's hard to impress us so thoroughly. I think another thing I always get from the people who knew Elvis, they developed such a loyalty to him that stretched on decades after his death and many to their own deaths. You can't manufacture that sort of feeling in an environment or relationships, no matter what kind, without it being absolutely genuine which why most of the crap people talk comes from the ones who never knew him while the ones who did defend him adamantly. That says quite a lot about Elvis.

What a lovely lady. Estelle and the Sweets were so important to Elvis. They also opened the show for him, sometimes along with the comedian, Sammy Shore. Audiences barely tolerated Sammy, but loved the Sweets. How wonderful for the whole ensemble to work with this amazing performer and to be included in this family. He was an exceptional talent and an exceptional human being. He will be remembered and revered forever. Thanks for your wonderful Elvis reactions, and thank you, Matt!!❤️❤️❤️

Great reaction . What a beautiful relationship they had with Elvis. He appreciated every one of them . I could listen to Elvis’ gospel music all day long. I was 15 when he passed away. I was heartbroken and to this day I celebrate his life . He was a genius at his craft .

I was blessed to see Elvis in concert twice & can attest to the fact that The Sweet Inspirations were fabulous. Their voices were the perfect compliment to his & his rapport with these ladies was a high point of each show. And keep in mind, the Sweets were with him, not only in Vegas but on tour with him from 1969 to his death in 1977...eight years of rehearsals, impromptu Gospel sessions, sharing the stage. These ladies knew him well. And as Ms. Brown said, they loved him. And he loved them. And they knew it. I feel so lucky to have witnessed some of that in person. 1973 in Nashville. 1974 in Louisville. I was a teenager who saw everyone from Led Zeppelin to Jimi Hendrix live. But those 2 shows watching the King weave his spell were so special. Unforgettable. 💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙

Indeed, they had respect for each other. He was still The Main thing and everyone knew he was boss. But he treated them like each had value. JD was his favorite and friend as the worlds lowest base singer. But he loved all the gospel harmony groups that sang with him. The Sweets never changed but there were three different men’s groups. First the Jordanaires, the never went to Vegas, then the most popular men’s gospel group in the country The Imperials, they had other contracts as Elvis’ wasn’t as long. and then his friends group The Stamps. And indeed all felt, them and we the fans he was the song & the music on stage, it was all through him. Why he couldn’t stand still, specially his younger years. This last movie has much off on the Memphis concert. You can look it up. They added a movie song to other things to pile it all into one. He never came across like that.and one judge in Jacksonville FL ordered he not move and he complied only moving his little finger and still the girls went crazy. He was indeed before his time, close enough in those times that the older people had issues with it. he directed the band and singers with all his moves, his energy and presence was overwhelming, it went through him, up to the ceiling, down through the stage and floor to the audience and back to the band and singers. He presence in the room was obvious even when you had not even seen him yet. Called charisma, as people asked him about his charisma, hed asked them; you know what charisma is Don’t you? They’ve looked stunned, all but Christians, he’d answer it’s the presence of God through you.
