Now we see where Michael Jackson's "Thrillier" video got most of the ideas. Once again Elvis was way ahead of his time.

Guitar Man was written and recorded by Jerry Reed. (The lyrics pertain to him more than Elvis) Elvis chose to record quite a few of his songs after this one. The other songs are all from Elvis’ movies. This was completely groundbreaking in ‘68. Almost as groundbreaking as Elvis had been in the 50’s. This was BEFORE Elvis finished making movies and started performing live shows again. He still had another year before he was playing live.

Completely incorrect - you’re thinking of the Aloha from Hawaii live concert from 1973. This is the 1968 Singer TV Special.

In the movie, they took poetic liberties with with that song, “guitar man”. That riot wwas actually in 1956 but the song wasn’t written till 1958! It’s totally fine because the rebel message was what was important.

Yes this is the tv special where his manager wanted and thought it was gonna end with a couple Christmas songs but Elvis and the producers changed it up and he sang If I Can Dream..a song about the segregation happening in 68 and the assassinations of MLK and Bobby Kennedy instead of the Christmas tunes...Thanks for this one today..love you guys 👍✌️

How exciting to see the Comeback show again! In the editing of the video they have removed a song. In the part when Elvis is at the amusement park and after he hits the gangster, the song "It hurts me" follows and then came the Dance choreography.

Let's make things right: elvis in real life sang the song "trouble" for the first time in his movie "king creole" in 1958, in the movie he "sang" it live at ruswood park in 1956, which obviously not correct, Elvis never sang it live until the TV comeback special and during his performances during the 70s
@samhugh49657 ай бұрын
Someone on another channel disputed him not singing Trouble live (he has his own Elvis channel and knows everything Elvis), but I believe you’re correct about not singing it at Russwood.

The bordello scene featuring A Little Less Conversation was actually cut from the original airing of the Special…as it was deemed to risqué by the sponsor, Singer Sewing Machines. Trouble was used as a recurring song throughout the different parts of the special.

You're correct. There's a fight scene after his guitar is broken where Elvis gets to show his karate moves (he was already a black belt - ended up an 8th grade by the time he died). This specific video is taking bits of various parts of the special spliced together.

So in the movie, the concert where Elvis performs Trouble, is really a compilation of multiple shows, but it depicts a time when Elvis actually had not recorded Trouble yet (1958). They simply picked the song due to the lyrics for the scene.

What they are saying that he did against his managers wishes was the song that ended the TV-show, he ended with If I can Dream, a tribute to MLK and Bobby Kennedy that both got assassinated 1968, he also wanted to give tribute to those that defends the country. The manager did not want him to do something in anyway political, or that could be controvertible and giving tribute to MLK was very controvertible at this time...

There are several things I notice when there is an Elvis reaction. Here are just 2. If the reactor is white, there is NEVER! any comment to watch Elvis and the black community. However! if the reactor is black, you will always find that they should watch Elvis and the black community, which in itself is a false title, and! they will mention Cissy Houston. I have aways wondered why they do this. This has baffled me for some time.
