That particular jumpsuit Elvis requested to be made for the Aloha From Hawaii television special. He wanted a jumpsuit that said America. Elvis was very patriotic and knew the special would be seen worldwide via satellite and wanted to represent. That is why the jumpsuit features the American Eagle and is done in Red, White and Blue. This jumpsuit cost over 100k in today’s money. Some of them weighed 30pds. Elvis had a walk out robe made for Muhammad Ali. It was heavy and gaudy. lol Later in this concert he’s throwing the belt and cape in the crowd. How much are those worth? lol.

I have loved this man since I was 2 years old. When I watched the 68 comeback special, I was hooked. I love music and listen to every genre. However, nobody has ever come close to what this man represented. He was such a humble, humorous, generous, HANDSOME!!!!, compassionate, respected, talented, admired, passionate man. His talent is unmatched TO THIS DAY!!! The greatest entertainer to ever live. The jewelry is real!! He had his own jeweler and designed most of it himself. He would give a lot of his jewelry away to fans. His jumpsuits were suede and leather. The stones are rhinestones and the jumpsuits and cape weighed 80+ pounds. Elvis was 6 feet tall. Check out Polk Salad Annie or Suspicions Minds. He is forever loved by millions and lives in our hearts. It's nice to see the younger generations keeping his music alive. Keep up the good work!!

That was with the full-size cape. I heard it was about 75 lb. The suit alone is about 25 lbs. The smaller cape is about 25 lbs as well, I believe. Crazy how much handwork was put into every suit.

You ALWAYS have something negative to say about Elvis or his singing. You are not LISTENING to Elvis for his voice, for what he can do with it. No matter what he sings. Songs are different. Some slow, some fast, sad, etc. Elvis will portray that in every song he sings. So HE, does not have a problem of any kind. Nothing is fake that he wears. His rings costs thousands of dollars and yet he'd take one off and give it to someone at his Vegas shows or wherever he felt like it. He did it out of kindness, not to show off. Do yourself a big favor and watch some of his Documentaries. You'd learn a lot.

That jump suit he wore that night weighed 70 pounds..So because of the lights ,the weight of his clothes n entertainment is why this man was always sweating..It was said by Elvis himself ,any time he performed he would lose five to eight pounds....

2 things about this video. 1-if you think back when Elvis first started everyone criticized him. He was way ahead of his time. They way he sang mostly the way he moved. No one had ever moved like that and in those days it was considered vulgar. He could have conformed and do the same as all the other entertainers but instead he did it his way and laid down a whole new road for the future entertainers. Go back and pull up his old black and white TV specials you'll see the "stinky leg". 2- the reason for the jumpsuits is because he would always rip his pants. There is a video about the people that made and designed them. Especially the one he wore in the hawaii soecial..

Elvis helped coordinate the Osmond jumpsuits. you can see the jumpsuits in their video called yo-yo. Elvis told his designer to do jumpsuits for each one of them. He told them they needed to get away from dress slacks and casual collar shirts and business pants. And the did.

Always wondered why Elvis closed his eyes singing.. I've learned now.. He had blue eyes.. I have green eyes.. the lighter your eyes are the more sensitive to light they are.. If he had had brown eyes.. we might have seen his eyes all the time.. but the lights in his face made him have to close his eyes. It hurt his eyes.. I understand being a green eyed woman.. lights hurt my eyes. My mother and sister who are brown eyed never had this problem.

I wish to make an observation, you state you have a short attention span and that most of your generation do also. Some things in life take time, observation and study to figure out....whether its music, philosophy, mathematics, science etc etc......the need for something fast paced and flashy to continually stimulate your brain to "think, learn and react" seems to point out lack of ability to concentrate beyond immediate gratification. If all of your generation have this short attention span the future may be bleak for us all. Einstein took over 8 years to develop his theory of relativity, and it was not done with a flashy fast paced inspiration...it was hard mental work and concentration. It took 10 years for Percy Spencer to develop the microwave oven. If he had a short attention span it would have never been created.
