One of my favourite cars of all time. I so wish I had owned a G60 or VR6. Great turnaround to get a modern classic back on the road

Have 2 of them, one burgundy and one blue, been a Corrado fan since 1990 when i bought my first one G60 in Alpine White. Had it for 10 years, immaculate in every aspect as I took care of it to the extreme, had to part as I got married (went to my wedding with it!) and needed a little more car space and 4 doors and then I got a 1989 burgundy in 2015, sunroof, all in excellent working condition, engine/g60/electronics all working perfectly, and the blue one 3 years later which had some issues, engine/g60 issues mainly, which I intended to keep for parts but felt so sorry to ruin its beuty, so I had to revive it and so I did.

Had the same blue G60 1990 Corrado - fully stock and I still miss it. Keep looking for a replacement but too many have been messed about with. Awesome car! After I got mine a mate got a VR6 and his brother a G60 too. Good times 😊

Cool! Shame these suffer the same fate of being modified by shed-tuners, just like GTI's, Opel Calibra, BMW 3 series and such.

Makes me feel sad about letting my white vr6 go, it was the best handling car I ever owned but I was going to lose the safe and dry home it lived in, cars are for driving anyway, I did minimal mileage, a very rare and underrated car on today’s roads, loved the episode boys 👍😎👍

Don’t quite agree on the suspension. Had one back in 97-99 and stock was bouncy that made it tail happy on windy roads and more so in the wet. Fitted some spax fixed drop springs and shocks and transformed the car’s ride without being firm.
@gerarduspoppel283110 ай бұрын
That was probably because they were worn out. My first car was a golf 2 gtd with a lowering set. It was horrible. You felt every stone on the road.

Legendary car. Probably first mod new owner will do is a set of coilovers; hopefully KW2.

I love that it has the VR6 Bonnet/Hood. The VR6 is beefier and nicer to look at. The G60 is hollow in the middle

It looks as thought you also changed the Radio/Stereo Cassette Player, The one hat was shown with the blue wire for the rear spoiler is different to the the one shown in the later stages of the show. How much did the stereo cost ? and how many other things were changed but unaccounted for ?

Makes me miss my old Corrado, wasn't a G60 just a nice 9a in classic green pearl. Wouldnt have put it to standard height though, always look like they are on stilts as standard... Looked like a late front bumper on that too with the click in in indicator/fogs. Sure the pre facelift bumpers lights mounted with a screw. Lovely car though

Nice unit. I don't see the light out of the tunnel to bring mine to roads again 😮💨
@jean-marclestic81507 ай бұрын
Nice car. The front bumper, grill, and bonnet are phase 2 (VR6 style) so not original. You can see the bumper is a bit too wide when looking from the front at the beginning of the video. And the fog lights are phase 2 this is why they fit. It gives a sleeker look though if I'm honest. Great job guys.

Should have went with bilstein coilovers, better handling than OEM, plus now it looks like a 4x4 haha

In the collectors market originality is king. That being said as other commenters have mentioned thete are still a lot of "wrong" parts on this car. I wish everyone modifying cars would keep the originals parts, I know it's a challenge to store this stuff sometimes and it's tempting to sell them on but its great for a new owner to have the choice to put it back to stock. Generally speaking you get more money too for selling the modified parts separately to the car as opposed to seeing the car modified.

Talk to a Rado owner for more than 5 minutes, and they will bring up that wing lol.
@turquoisecat7618 ай бұрын
Not sure why a Rado watch owner is relevant. How do they bring the wing up, brute force, ESP or electrically?

As an aside, i have liked all the mechanics that have been on WD but I have to register a preference to Elvis, it’s not so much the individual personality of each of the guys, I think it’s down to non adversarial relationship they portray, Elvis seems more or equally keen as Mike to sort out the chosen motors, much easier on the entertainment and enjoyment score
@SBBUK6 ай бұрын
Agree, I'm enjoying WD again since they came back to the UK. I got bored of the USA series and stopped watching. Wasnt relatable at all.

Anyone else noticed he installed VR6 fogs and turns on a G60? 🤔
@arjanl.216810 ай бұрын
Not just the fogs/turns but the entire bumper. They stick out of the G60 front fenders by 1/2 inch, Also the bonnet is post-'92. Mark changed the turns to pre-'92 in the post-'92 brackets, where the pre-'92 turns/fogs are mounted to the bumper itself. It's all details which makes a restauration time-correct. Good find about the rear spoiler. Never heard that one before. Would've drive me nuts.

@welkekutnaamdanwel4 ай бұрын
Had 3 g60 s no engine problems. But few other problems. Sunroof also. Have a 2.0 8v now. Never had so much fun in a corrado. It always drives like you expect. Very fast response. G60 depends on the day. really😁 it also has no sunroof🎉
@ThorstenKreutzenberger8 күн бұрын
@@DarrenHudson-iu7mk the sunroofs have zinc die casting parts which lose strength when hot. So if your car is roasted in the sun and you get in and immediately open the roof those parts are prone to fail. I was working with those sunroofs and all later sunroofs had the same issues.
