I remember as a little boy, my Mother and Aunt going to the old coliseum in Houston, to see Elvis and raving about him. As an adult I was transferred from Houston to Boston. This song, the original of course, was the signal to me that the holidays have officially begun. The instore radio station at my first job would start mixing in holiday music the day after thanksgiving (this is the early 90's, so black friday wasn't really much of a thing.) When this song popped on, and it always made an appearance or two that day, the holidays had officially begun. (mom and I listened to his christmas albums every year growing up as well. Elvis Presley will never be forgotten. He was the best vocalist I can remember. He sang hymns, rock and roll, love songs. He was so generous. Always gave money to those in need. Shared his wealth and talent with friends, family, the poor. Gave cars to many people...family, friends and just to anyone he thought needed one. Yes, he had faults and did some things which some did not approve of but he was a kind and gentle man! I and many others will never forget Elvis and his many assets.
