Every now and then I come back to watch this video. I am not even a big sci fi fan, but I just love they way this video is made. You can clearly hear the passion in Elvis voice while he discusses all the movies. This is an incredibly interesting video and it deserves more attention.

Lorn is a producer I’d say makes “future music”. His stuff has this haunting, decayed, introspective quality that pairs really well with sci fi and evokes retro cyberpunk anime. Some songs I’d recommend starting with are “Acid Rain,” “Sega Sunset,” and “555-5555”

Hey Elvis, it'd be really cool if you could do a video of this style but with horror, and its many subgenres like found footage, slashers, etc. If I had to recommend any horror media, I'd definitely recommend Darkwood. It's a top-down, indie polish survival videogame, with its main resource for building tension being audio. The sound design, character design, atmosphere are all amazing, and its Eldritch, bodyhorror themes are the cherry on top.

Death Stranding is a really interesting (and out there) take on what it means to be human and have connections to people. The timefall aspect of that game is a horrifying concept and the BTs, while not amazingly designed, are still a pretty neat concept on how life and death work in that universe. It's not everyone's cup of tea but as a sci-fi concept, it's super fun and interesting to think of. Especially with today's world and how big social media is.

You HAVE to watch Kaiba. Is an obscure cult classic anime from 2008 that explores death and memories and when the line gets blurred between them. Super surreal and doesn’t get NEARLY enough attention. Perfectly fits the themes you were discussing too

This is a great Sci Fi smorgasbord of movies and media. I must say this is one of my favorite videos from EtA. You can tell he has real passion and imagination of the future. I'm also a huge Sci Fi junkie and watching this and seeing some of my favorite but little known about movies makes me feel good that other people appreciate the content. It also opened me up to a lot of new movies like Aniara. Wow, what an amazing movie. The concepts are truly terrifying and the end leaves little to the imagination as to what happened. It explores an existential dread that we would all experience in a different way. Like a lot of people, I like to imagine my reaction to the actions on screen and I think I would be trying to keep society alive and flourishing on this little slice of survivability. Try to encourage the people to couple up and have children, or even surrogate embryonic stations. Knowing life will continue after your gone is a major comfort every human has had the pleasure of experiencing. Without that, people will lose the will to live and survive. I would try and give everyone hope that life will continue and as long as we all try and make living here the best we can, we will someday be able to expand. That's just my perception of the scenario. As you can see, I've become very fond of a movie in this video and there are many many more I could talk about. EtA summed up a lot of our feelings and thoughts when it came to these movies depicting a new way of life in the future. Even bad Sci Fi movies are still thought provoking and still fun to watch, even if it's just once so you can understand what's being portrayed. Bravo, Mr. Alien, a great video that I've watched multiple times.

I cant remember if this was mentioned in an older version of this video but season 1 of psycho-pass is an incredible sci fi anime that I can not reccomend enough for fans of the genre. If you haven't seen psycho-pass (specifically season 1) I highly highly recommend it, it is an incredible show that explores really interesting themes and concepts; it poses very fun and interesting philosophical questions and the society that has been created within the show is incredibly interesting. It is one of my favourite animes as well as one of my favourite sci fi things ever.

man, this video really reminded me of how much i like sci-fi. so glad to see appreciation for the genre! worth an hour to sit through 👍 also always nice to just see people talk about things they love. works that weren't mentioned that i really like is 'a clockwork orange' (both the book and film) it doesn't fall into the "obvious" sci-fi, but is in my opinion one of the better dystopian pieces. literature wasn't really mentioned here, but i'd recommend kallocain by karin boye (it talks about similar elements as 1984 and brave new world) and ray bradbury books! (i'm sure there's more but i can't think of any now...) and an anime i thought would be mentioned - psycho-pass - i remember when it first came out and i was obsessing over it, but i know it might not fit everyone's taste.
