I would take that 2/3 of my coworkers would still do it today, the only thing saving them is that they do not have admin rights on their accounts and cannot run any executable files. Otherwise, they would run any shit they receive, as long as it remotely looks alright. And even if it does not.

A lot of these viruses would be counter by giving everyone a basic understanding about file extensions. If everyone knew how to check a file extension, so many of these viruses would have never spread because they'd see something fishy going on with the double extension. Of course, this was early 2000's, so it was even less likely for people to be interested in learning about computers than it is nowadays.

It doesn't help that Windows even today hides file extensions by default. Now it's a lot easier to turn them back on since the setting is right there on the ribbon (not sure about Windows 11) but back in the Windows XP days people didn't go out of their way to turn the extensions on.

@@danooct1 i do have a C810 here, the C840 share the same shell, and oddly enough they also share the same GPU connectors inside. That mean you can put a GPU from a C840, in a C810, but of course you have to force-install the drivers because it won't recognize itself normally in the C810. So yeah, quickly said, i have a Geforce4 MX440 64mb coming from a C840, in my C810. (Pentium 3 1.13Ghz)
