My favorite fighter, people only remember his dancing, but this man was smooth as fuck, his timing and form was beautiful and the way he put together punches was so perfect it even looked different. Watch his Ward fight some of his counter hooks/hook combinations I've never saw another fighter punch like that. One of the best that ever lived, it's sad and a fucking shame how he never was scored the way he deserved.

People say he was never appreciated...... That stament is the sole reason why he was a true great..... No one appreciates true greatness at the time. Its true throughout all of history. To be labeled as "under appreciated" is a true testimony to your skill level. Emunuel was such a master, I personally think he was passed wining and losing. He created art, there is no measure to art, u can't say "that art is better than that art" art is subjective, off course technicall ability or virtuosity is measured but you can only measure them as single peices, u have to look at the whole artest and the courer to establish the art that was made. Emmuanual was an artest simple as that.

@AngelofHat It's an English expression. If I believed a fighter should have got the decision I could say 'the judges robbed him of the victory'..or 'he was robbed in that fight'. It's quite a commonly used phrase in boxing circles, unfortunately.

Just shows th difference of having a gud team around u, management etc. He could easily been Floyd mayweather. I didn't watch this dude at the time of his actual fights. I only came across his videos during a night of boredom. Kung Fu and anything relative to it is fascinating to me because it is warfare in its primal form which is another thing that does the same. However, boxing was always a turn off for me because it never seemed to flow spontaneously. Seeing how Augustus was done dirty has only strengthened this feeling. I watched a video in which the narrator broke down his fighting style in technical form. Dude was on his own level. Clearly one of the best in the game. The unorthodox aspect of his style exposed just how many in the craft on a professional level probably didn't deserve to be there and I think he was robbed for this reason. Doesn't change anything though. His legacy is sealed. Much respect to his skill and technique. I just wis "professional" boxing gave it the same.

most boxers start very early and its all about patterns and predictability. thats why canelos head movement is so great for an example he uses the predictable patterns to predetermine ( just an example other great fighters do too) but "the drunken master" started boxing later in life 17 and turned pro 2 years later with a few ammy fights. as a person with a similar story its a combination of natural ability and the lack of being drilled with predictability.
