Dustin, Your channel was one of the first things I watched for drones. I now have a s500 pixhawk build, a babyhawk with taco rc carbon fibre, a diatone crusader gt2, a rakonheli framed e010s, 2 Syma X5c's and 2 X8c's. I blame you. LOL

Hi Dustin I use a rubber band for mounting the battery on my Baby hawk without any vibrations on 3s, I hook the rubber band around the camera stand from left to right or right to left pushing the fc board down against the foam pad. Ohh and an amazing motor upgrade are the DYS 1104 4000kv the baby hawk will flip trip 3s like wow.

Hey Dustin, this looks like an awesome little quad for FPV, just what I have been waiting for. Those 2S 800mAh batts do look a bit heavy but it looks to handle them ok. I have a lot of 500mAh 2S batts I use on my 800mm 3D foamie planes and they are about half the size of the 800's you are using so that is what I think I would use. I think this is my next quad purchase, thanks to your awesome review. Thanks for what you do, man! And thanks for the little Syma/Tenergy X20 giveaway, I guess I did everything right, they are sending mine and I can't wait to fly it. You're the best! Aloha!!!

Nice review DDDD! (Destruction Derby Dustin Dunnill! LOL) Yeah, that HAULIN' HEAD ON into the cyclone fence did this one in! Way to give us a durability test DDDD! No buzzer, no OSD, and that flutter counts me out of this one. Love the honest reviews! Long time subscriber for the thoroughness and honesty! Keep it up DDDD! (;^)

It should have some low voltage alarm so you won`t actually lose it somewhere, I mean, just dying mid-flight is pretty spooky IMO. Btw, must be weird for the mailman delivering a package with that little thing wizzing around the house lol xD

I bought the same setup only the bnf version. Except this is my first time setting up a tx and I’m a bit confused on this I can’t get betaflight to respond to my qx7. What is the dmode supposed to be in? What are the receiver settings in betaflight? And what else might I be missing?

Excellent review / flight Dustin!! I picked up the Babyhawk back in July at Flite Fest East. I have the Taranis QX7 like you do & when I go into Betaflight & click the receiver tab, the colored bars that are on there disappear after a second or 2. What could cause this? Thanks in advance

looking at this and the lizard 95, im a begginer and im on a budget. I have a tiny whoop that I can fly aound the house pretty well. which quad do u think would be easier to use and upgrade in the future? and which is better value for money (considering that neww bee drone has a babyhawk with 2 bats and a reciever for 99.99) thanks!

Crazy question, if your predispossed to motion sickness while playing first-person games, what I get sick flying fpv?
@DustinDunnill7 жыл бұрын
+Ay G Most likely yes.
@LookingForEntertainment1127 жыл бұрын
Ay G FPV games have a lot more latency and frame-rate issues. I get very motion sick when I play FPV games. I also got motion sickness from flying FPV, but I desensitised myself by watching FPV flying videos on KZbin with Google Cardboard/Samsung VR goggles for a month or so before I tried FPV flying. I have zero issues now. I still get stupidly sick from FPV games though.

air mode is what keeps your motor spinning when you're zero throttle for acro tricks basically and better control
@DustinDunnill7 жыл бұрын
Thanks. This is my first ever review. Thanks for explaining everything for me... :/ Just kidding. I am being sarcastic.. please don't take it personally.. You are right, I had just forgotton what mode I set it at or it came with stock air or acro
@Edgewalker0017 жыл бұрын
This might be an option, it's brushless of course which as you've said might not be the best choice for a novice like me but maybe if I put some ballast on it in the form of a heavier battery like you did? XD It would also be a valuable learning experience to solder on my own receiver, since I haven't done much electronics work since highschool. And it's FrSky compatible out of the box... Provided you add the right receiver that is =p There seems to be a ton of mini receivers for FrSky but none that's just labeled "Micro RX", there is one called the XM plus but that one lacks telemetry. This one also sports that friendly red battery connector which means you can stick most 2S models into it straight out of the charger with no swapping plugs, which I immediately love the idea of. And finally, if I pick this model I can buy the drone, any spare parts, the receiver, goggles and the Tx inside the EU with no toll or VAT troubles at all. As long as noone is dropshipping at least... I hate when they do that... Edit: holy crap, you get some serious flight time out of that battery also 0.o The EU version of this one seems to come with a cloverleaf antenna for the FPV link instead of the monopole on that one, not sure what difference that would make.
@DustinDunnill7 жыл бұрын
+Edgewalker001 this one looks cool but I felt was honestly over hyped. Bad tune out of the box and a plastic arm broke from cracking where a CF wouldn't have. I've got a CF frame in to swap this into when I have the time. But I dread tuning it to get it flying right .
@Edgewalker0017 жыл бұрын
Awwwwww... Oh well. To be honest the main selling point for me would be the battery plug. Most micro FPV drones seem to be using the toy grade 1S "balance" solderless terminal plugs and I've already had some bad experiences with those... =p More specifically the plug on my FQ17W sticks into the female so close to the wall of the battery compartment that the only way I found to get it out was to use an old style nail clipper in place of tweezers, and that doesn't entirely feel safe... =p That toy drone is a blast to fly though, even if the "FPV" is laggy wifi garbage. In comparison to my first x4 it kind of feels like a flying brick, but in a good way. If that makes any sense... =p

@inelonwetrust91697 жыл бұрын
Joshua Curtiss Can you share other good options? Thanks
@joshuacurtiss7 жыл бұрын
Sure! My top 3 contenders after researching for the past month are the Eachine Lizard 95, DYS ELF, and AR FUN 90. I was super-close to buying the DYS ELF, it's really nice, but then the Lizard 95 won my admiration and that'll probably be the one I buy. My only big complaint about the Lizard 95 is that it's currently sold out ;-p but that's a good sign if you think about it. ;-)
@joshuacurtiss7 жыл бұрын
All 3 of these have an OSD and a buzzer/beeper, which are 2 features I really want, and all 3 have very decent punch too. If you research the Lizard, it doesn't have the downsides that some of these other ones do. Plus, can be configured with any 3 of the common RC receiver platforms! :-D
