Great vid as usual, would love to see more and also how to import as a VDB (pro's/con's compared to Phoenix etc) into a larger scene in Max and Vray. Maybe if more people understood this then there would be a higher demand for more tutorials like this... I assume it won't interact with TyFlow yet?
@RedefineFX Жыл бұрын
Yep, those videos are coming. You'd have to export your tyflow sim as alembic or fbx and import into embergen. I knew the comparisons between Phoenix / Embergen were inevitable since most of my audience are 3Ds Max users, but I see embergen as more of an alternative tool that can be used by the entire CG community, not just the Max crowd, rather than a Phoenix competitor. Phoenix is amazing because it lives inside of Max already + can do liquids.

Thank you for the tutorial! How EmberGen can be used for 3ds max users? Can I port animation/particles some how to 3ds max?
@RedefineFX Жыл бұрын
Right now the only way is to export the sim as a VDB and import into max. This can then be rendered with Vray volume grid
@jangafx Жыл бұрын
You can also export particles as Alembic.

Currently the only way to bring embergen sims into Max is by exporting them into VDB and importing. Then you can use vray volume grid to render it out.
