Thank you Kelley, it's very reassuring to hear other people's stories. I'm only two weeks in and my drinking is down 50%. I know it's a long process and my first realisation is how much patience is something I need to work on. I find myself mindfully asking myself "is it gone yet?" and then reminding myself that 30 years of behaviour isn't going to be gone in two weeks. -Kat

Hi Kat! Thanks so much for your support. It's scary that while we're all different, different countries, culture - everything, the suffering AUD causes is universal. TSM is no quick fix - but no quick fix ever lasted long term. All we can do is stay compliant, and watch the monster diminish. Are you in the warriors FB group? I've never had support like it - just wonderful people. All the very best of luck to you xxx

Thank you, Kelley, your story is pretty much my experience with TSM so far - 7 months in. I have not lost hope and truly feel it working somewhere in the background. Gary Bell wrote a great response to a note I wrote after another KZbin video when I was much more despondent. This will work, It is wonderful that it is finally catching on - that It can take longer for some. The new commonly reported success timeline is now 9 months (or more.) I long for my relationship with alcohol to be indifferent - it is actually slowly getting there. Compliance of course is key - I am 100%. Mindfulness is surely an underestimated powerful catalyst - I need quite a bit of work here. And, Most importantly, never give up! -Rich

I'm very happy with my TSM journey, I hope you're finding success with it too! Very interesting point regarding the success timeline around 9 months - that certainly echoes a lot of anecdotal evidence on the TSM warriors group etc. Quick responders seem to be the exception that proves the rule! That said, that behaviours that took two decades to become engraved in our minds, can be undone in less than a year is nothing short of a miracle! Thank you for your much appreciated support xxx

@@MsBoxtet how are you doing to date? I'm into my third month of TSM. It has been helping but I'm struggling with still chasing that high....as you know being 100% compliant seems to eliminate any euphoria. I will not give up but I like to hear about others stories of success for the encouragement.

The comment about Nalmefene not being metabolised in the liver in incorrect. It is actually extensively metabolized in the liver, but largely by glucuronidation rather than transformation to a different metabolite. However, it is true to say that a prescription for Nalmefene does NOT normally require a liver test prior to prescription, as Naltrexone does.
