@@jennifermcguireink I did manage to snag one of them earlier. The others must be older that I want. I spoke to Altenew today. The manufacturers for every company are having a hard time with product replacement due to COVID. Which is understandable. Lord, help me have more patience.

Same effect as with a colour-core paper. You should be able to do the technique with any surface treatment and on any colour of paper that's compatible with the surface treatment. I have a stash of colour-core paper but this just expanded my ability to use the sanding technique. A nail buffer from the Dollar Store works as a sanding block and gives different 'grit' options.

Years ago I learned that the process in making embossing folders may cause the edges to cut through cardstock. So if this happens run a piece of chipboard through it to "sand" the edges. Of course I always spritz with water whenever using 3d folders. Thank you for the great videos and inspiration.

Jennifer McGuire could make some fantastic remix videos where she discusses design principles. When you think about it, so many cards follow the same design principles even though the techniques and elements change. I think I’d also like to see messed up or less effective designs with a discussion about why the design isn’t quite as impactful. Or also, another good one would be remaking cards from like 10 years ago but with products and techniques from today. I was looking at older card designs earlier today on Pinterest and marveling at how much more dynamic contemporary cards are. Remember color core cardstock? I guess it fell out of favor, but sanding colored cardstock used to be a thing. This video is certainly a fun update on the technique.

Curious to know what sanding block you are using. What grit? I love this technique but when i used a fine sand paper (not block) it shredded the design. Appreciate your response.

I was amazed how you used the Embossing Folders. Your cards are beautiful. My question is I love all the sentiments you use and how you use them. How can I use more sentiments on my cards without having to buy all the sets you talk about? Is there a set, or do you have any ideas how to accomplish. I thought of printing off the computer but not sure if that would work. Any help would be appreciated. You always come up with such wonderful uses for items we have. Thank You
@jennifermcguireink3 жыл бұрын
There are many sets that have a wide variety of sentiments to cover most occasions. It's hard to pick just one as there are different styles and sizes of sentiments. I suggest you to go www.simonsaysstamp.com and type in sentiment stamps in the search bar. They have a very large selection and you can see which one appeals to you.

Companies need to start making supplies more universal for sizes. Like embossing folders.. make them so you can do an A2 or a slimline, same with stencils. Id also prefer to see 6x8 paper pads for the same reason.
@corinne16913 жыл бұрын
You can really easily adapt an A2 folder or paper to slimline - just use a strip of metallic paper, die cut or some other accent to cover the spot where they meet up, or do a partial - embossing on one end, colored cardstock on the other etc.

Your blending is so smooth how do you do that. It looks like you do the same as me but with different results. I think maybe it is the pressure you use. Maybe I am too heavy. love all.
@jennifermcguireink3 жыл бұрын
It usually is the pressure. You can make it darker but going over it multiple times but you can't take it away obviously. It is also helpful to stamp off your tool on paper before coming to the card.
