I love the bird, so sweet! I also love your nails! I super love the color too! I think it’s a great idea especially when your nails are centered. Maybe we should give more cups of tea, because I know that it can be expensive to keep our nails good looking.. sometimes I do my own too. I s appreciate what a great teacher you are! Thank you! Marion!! 💕Donna

Oh I did love getting them done! But alas, I don't think it's very healthy for your nails. I felt mine weren't as strong as they were so I've stopped doing it. Normal nail varnish for special occasions only from now on 😏

The greenfinch is so lovely, Marion. Nice that you used the bark of the birch. Sometimes I reed that people say something about the nails of the person in the video, and I always think: where are they looking at? I never see "dirty"nails. Maybe because my nails are always dirty, doesn't matter how many times a day I clean them. That is the "problem"with animals and gardens, and I don't mind. But your nails are looking beautiful and I love the color.
@marionsworld24 Жыл бұрын
I agree totally Marjan! I'm am so used to having gardener's hands and nails that I wasn't even noticing. But my daughter said sometimes they looked dreadful. I didn't think they'd stay nice considering I have a fire to clean too... but so far so good... The bark has stayed really pliable. I hope it continues to stay like that...fingers crossed!

Pretty greenfinch, perfect position on the branch ! Love birch bark, always had a hankering to make a canoe, like the ones of the Canadian Indians and furtrappers used to make. It is so light and flexible, and they used tree resin to waterproof the seams. You could make a little canoe from birch bark for your boat collection.

In this video I'm using my Lowery work stand with side clamp. Then just my normal large hoop. The stand has a bar where I fix my magnifying light is as well. That's been super helpful with lighting the videos. I've had it about a year as I realised I was struggling to see the fine work I was doing at that time. Occasionally I also use my old chair hoop but have it standing on the table in front of me. Hope that's helpful Carol.

And I'm learning do much from you . I'm 73 yrs old and just learning how to sew.you make it look so easy But of course it is not thank you so much.
@marionsworld248 ай бұрын
My tangle just evolved really once I was no longer interested in the numbers and makes of the thread. Years ago I had embroidery kits and kept all my threads in number order. I wound the unused pieces back where they belonged. However once I started to do my own designs I realised I needed the threads in colour order because that's how I'm searching for them. Then I wanted them to look neat and started just keeping the spare bits to one side to pull from. I call it a tangle but they're not actually tangled up. Because I just lie the next ones on top all the time I can usually just get hold of the colour I need and it just pulls free. I usually look there first before I get a new thread from a bobbin, so they do get used up as well as get added to.

Loved watching your embroidery on your finch. It’s beautiful. What kind of embroidery stand do you use, if I may ask
@marionsworld24 Жыл бұрын
I have a metal stand that I can attach my hoop to. It also has an attachment that I put the magnifying light in. It's made by Lowery, which is a family company here in the UK. I've had it about a year now and couldn't be happier with it. It's made such a difference 😊🧵🪡
