I know this video has been here for a good while, but I just wanted to thank you! I’ve watched so many videos of this stitch and couldn’t get the hang of it as it kept being over complicated. I finally get it after watching this :-)

Wendi you have been very helpful to me. I am so glad I started to embroider after a 25 year drought. I used to cross stitch. My Mother loved to embroider and now I can finish the tablecloth that was unfinished when she passed in 1972.

This is the first video that made me truly understand and appreciate how long and short stitches are done. I wish I would have seen this video first so I could have avoided butchering the stitch. I think I finally got it this time though!

Your tutorials could not be better. You are very clear and cover every detail we need to know (even how to get rid of the thread from the tail that came to the surface:))! Finally someone who explains that as from the first row of long and short stitches all the others are of the same length! Thank you!

Thanks for this informative video. Through your clear and concise instruction, I learned that I was making a mistake with this particular stitch on a crewel project, one that I will now correct. Your video helped immensely! Thank you for taking the time to make this video for those of us who are learning the art of crewel embroidery.

@CaylaRoxxLotz That's so funny! Sometimes I stitch with no TV or music on - just so I can listen to the pop of the needle and the sound of the thread pulling through the fabric. To me it's soothing. . . :-)

I agree l only have noise of sorts to blackout 🤪 disturbing noises of others l have to live next under top of or out window noises . some smoothing others 😬 All quiet on the home front l like stillness yes the needle popping l should record to help me 😴 👍Rock on beautiful person. You sure show your 🦸♀️powers by taking thread & fabrics & simply yet delightful creations turn into cool whimsy art . Stay creative 👍Rock on beautiful person 🤗😷😇💜💜🍁🦃🌲🐿🥰

Hi Wendi! How many threads are you using, is it 4? Because I'm using 2 and it's just not filling in very good!

I think I'm using 6 here. Two is lovely - it will fill slower, but you'll get a much more delicate look. It can look like painting!
