Emergency services respond to casualty on track at busy London tube station

Police (BTP/NIRT), fire and ambulances including London's Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), ambulance control unit and Air Ambulance flood the area of Knightsbridge London Underground station after reports of a casualty on the track (10th July 2023).
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Knightsbridge Underground station at 2:56pm today (10 July) to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended and a person has been taken to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life changing. The incident is not being treated as suspicious."

A common misunderstanding of what Air Ambulances do in the UK is that people think their job is to fly the patient to hospital as quickly as possible. It's actually the opposite, it's to fly a Critical Care team of Doctors & Paramedics to the patient so they can provide care usually only done in hospital, giving the best chance of survival
