I've followed Jared for years and even listened to and called into his radio show. I can't agree more about debt and risk.

Having kids is a cause financial stress, but it was, till the creation of social security, a way to increase your security. Social security severed the link between the cost of having kids when you are young and the financial benefits of having kids to care for you in your old age. Your social security benefits should be based on how much money your kids contribute to the system, not on how much you contributed to the system because your contributions went to support your parents.

God this is a stupid fucking take. So many horrible 2nd and third order effects. What if your kid is a criminal? Don’t have to pay higher taxes? How about you abolish social security and everyone keeps their money. God forbid people keep their money, the horror
