The E is pronounced like the E in egg. I gave you the link to her explaining that to the DJ interviewing her at the time on your review of And I Love Her. That’s how she explains it to people. This video had a million views in two weeks. She writes her own piano solos, and she memorizes everything she does. She never uses sheet music.

Yes Brad! She is incredible! Emily is in a league of her own! A huge talent and a gifted singer/musician with a magical voice! Plus she writes her own songs!

What makes Emily stand out to me are two things: superior piano skills, and super clear diction. Very sweet soprano voice, which I think will add layers as she ages.

I love her voice, her diction is so good, you can understand every word she sings. She is an amazing pianist too. On a different note she seems like a really lovely girl

Hi SJ, its Mick in the UK. Your pronunciation of Emily's name was more accurate the first time. Emily is her own person and chooses the songs herself. She loves a wide variety of music and does many contemporary songs, which I have learned to appreciate because of her interpretation of the songs. She practices every song, every day, thoroughly before recording in her home studio, usually in one take. Emily loves The Beatles, and many have said that she does the best Beatles' covers ever. Have a listen to her version of Let It Be which she recorded with her two older brothers (yes, a very musical family). Again, many have said it is better than the original, with Emily adding her own solo, based on the structure of the song, at the very end. You compared Emily to Angelina Jordan, who is also a very good singer. It must be the Norwegian connection? If you listen to Angelina's cover of Adele's Easy On Me, she appears to be impersonating Adele, with a full studio production, whereas the then 13 year old Emily sings it in her own style and plays her own wonderful piano accompaniment in her own home. So it is Emily every time for me. I thank you S.J. for your reaction to A Whiter Shade Of Pale by Emily, who was fourteen when she recorded the song, and look forward to your next reaction. Take care, kind regards, Mick.

Well said Mick! There are so many of her songs that I have listened to and said that they were better than the original. A great example is Sara McLachlan’s Angel. I have Sara’s CD, and I love Sara, and that song done by her, but I think Em does it much better.

How do you know so much about Emily and her routine? If there is a book out, I would love to read it.

@@ellisjk1409 , if you read my comments on that other thread we are on, I think it’s all there. There’s no book. Mick is a huge fan of hers as well, and he works hard at getting her known. He posts her music in dozens of groups on Facebook, and radio stations, etc.

Nice find, I actually have the original by Procol Harum on a 45 single, picked it up from a car boot sale and its in good condition. Back to Emily, yet another beautiful talented teenager, I wish her every success.

While the music industry is promoting grotesque characters like 'Lizzo' etc.... Real people are here supporting music and beautiful girls like Emily.

Flawlessly beautiful music. But missing something, not sure what. Hopefully as she grows.

The "something" that you're probably missing is the keyboards, guitars, bass and drums as on the original that we all know and love. But what Emily has done here is pretty unique. I know of no other cover of Whiter Shade Of Pale that has a voice and one instrument. Yet Emily has let her piano do the talking, incorporating all the musical flourishes of the original. Please check out Emily's KZbin channel where you will find over 120 songs to play including many self-penned compositions. Take care, kind regards, Mick.

You have to bear in mind she is a 14 year old girl not a middle aged man . I love both versions, the original and Emily 's version.

You are getting close on the pronunciation, haha. It's Ling-eh (not- ay). Since you have an elephant on your shirt, try eh as in elephant. Thanks for playing her music. If you want to try something different from Emily, I suggest an original about tennis, in which we actually get to see a bit of her talent on the court. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIrPgpeVgpJ7sLM
