I am hopeful that many people from the Gothard cult will finally see the light, and be able to discern what is in the Bible as opposed to what he's taught and brainwashed so many to believe. I grew up Protestant but thank God I was never made to watch 19 Kids and Counting or listen to Gothard's teachings. I would LOVE if I, someone who believes she doesn't need to be under a manbrella since the curtain was torn in two, could have the same grace simply for having my own aspirations and goals outside of those of my father or husband as people like the Duggars think chimos like Josh do. I'm nauseously optimistic this documentary will open so many eyes.

Based on hearing from only one side and zero witnesses brought forward , and because there was many years before she choose to report these alleged abuses, and no opportunity for the accused to defend themselves or bring witnesses, or for anyone else to back up these allegation or be a character witness, it is not ethical to assume Bill Gothard is guilty of any of these accusations!! I am in my 60s but when I was 45 and younger I would have automatically believed that this girl was telling the truth, but after seeing so many teen and young adult girls, just straight out lie, even about their own father and/or mother, once they got involved with the wrong peer group or false Church (cult), or had opportunity to make money or run away with their boyfriend🥺! This is why all problems should be resolved within the family, and if there is still conflict, then follow Mathew 18:15-17, and if need be, bring to the Church for help in exposing the truth and drawing the hardened hearted to Christlike resolution, resulting in reconciliation! This slander is not accomplishing anything except division amongst families and friends!
