Wait a minute, my husband is 47 and he’s never gotten over being a fussy eater. I just know if I tried putting cauliflower in Mac and cheese, he would notice right away and not eat it. He definitely eats like a 3 year old! 😂 My son is 19, and used to eat like his dad..he is finally trying new foods now that he has discovered cooking shows on KZbin. So, they don’t always outgrow it at 5 years old. I wish. That would making cooking so much easier if I could just make anything I wanted and everyone liked it.

I've seen much worse. In some articles and vids for picky eaters they straight up have sides of cut up veggies. Like come on if my kid were to eat veggies as long as they have a dip I wouldn't be looking up these topics 😂
@AloneInTheGarden3 жыл бұрын
@@raeanna451 Yes! I have one kid who was incredibly fussy until he was about 5-6, when he finally started eating new things. Now I can at least get him to eat grapes and bananas, and a couple kinds of vegetables where he’d never touch fruits and vegetables before. But his younger sister who is 5 now is 10x worse than he ever was. It drives me crazy because I love all kinds of foods and love to cook. I’ve always introduced all kinds of foods to them, but they are just SO picky. My daughter got to the point where she was too thin because she wouldn’t eat hardly anything we’d try to feed her. Her pediatrician straight up told us to feed her whatever she will eat, even if it seems unhealthy, just to get her to gain weight. There’s only about 4-5 foods she will eat consistently even though we try to get her to eat new things on a daily basis. It’s awful having a child be so picky.
@raeanna4513 жыл бұрын
@@AloneInTheGarden good to know I'm not the only one. We always introduce foods of different kinds to try to widen the variety but my first one is just not interested. I feel like my kids diets consist of quesadillas , mac and cheese peanut butter and jelly, you know all of the kids basics. Luckily my first will eat bananas as well as fried eggs out of all of the things so every single morning we start the day with fried egg because it's the only protein I can get him to eat he hates any kind of meat 🤦🏼♀️ I also recently managed to sneak some beans into his quesadilla but if anything green goes into it it's game over he knows.
@AloneInTheGarden3 жыл бұрын
@@raeanna451 I’m with you in solidarity for sure! For mine, it’s store bought ramen, Colby Jack cheese, sliced deli ham, chicken nuggets, and she’ll eat pretty much anything that has chocolate in it. I feel terrible every day that she eats so poorly, but honestly we’re just doing the best we can to make sure she has options and is getting something in her belly.

Just any types of beans, (I use kidney and canneleni beans) and chilli, cumin, garlic purée, little bit of salt and water! So much less salt than in the original and just leave them on a low simmer for 5-10 minutes stirring occasionally! I leave it chunky but it could be blended to smooth! They also freeze!

Also, I have made the hidden veg sausage rolls to moderate success, and the spinach smoothie 3 times but the 3rd time my eldest said he doesn't want green smoothie anymore. Will keep trying. My brother only eats ramen and graham crackers. He’s VERY picky and unhealthy and my parents don’t care so I’m trying to handle it myself.

Made the sausage rolls at the weekend there and got my 8 year old to help with the grating and a mixing with the carrot and courgette. Both her and my 7 year old (who is extremely fussy) ate up all of it and enjoyed along with some home made chips. Thanks so much for the recipe!
