She is totally adorable. Obviously from a very good breeder. My one tip would be to put a blanket over the crate, they feel more secure in a den. Keep the crate door open during the day so she can go in there to rest without any disturbance. Enjoy your bundle of joy. I think Maple would be a great name for her !

Best gift for little kids. Nothing is better than having a pet. You guys are gonna have so much fun. As a dog parent I can give you one advice... Be careful when kids are running around with him. He is so small that if they step on her it will be a really bad injury. Once she is a little bigger there will be no issue. But right now she is too small and her bones are not very strong. You have such an amazing cute active boys so it can happen anytime. Loads of love. I just love your family.

If that bell doesn't work in terms of training (cause it's quite tricky!), you can always try a string of bells attached to the door handle to the garden, so she only has to nudge those instead of paw the other bell, which may be easier 😊 she's beautiful 🥰

Congratulations!! having a new puppy is a thrill. the puppy will eventually adjust to your schedule so just stick to that. Both my dogs are around 14 years old. I still remember those days and I miss how spunky one of mine used to be. Sadly she is feeling her age lately. My other one still plays but not with toys. I do miss that. Ginger would be a good name too. I think pixie is cute.

Best 5 tips I can give from having 2 puppies is - 1.don’t be afraid to put your hand in their mouth and squeal if she so much as closes her mouth. It teaches her not to bite. 2. Start crate training from day 1 and really persist. A crate is also a great quiet place for her during the day so leave it open. Tell tell the boys if she is in her crate not to disturb her. Cover it too (with a blanket pr towel) so it’s a nice secure place she feels safe in. 3. Don’t annoy her too much but do give little tugs of her tail, ears etc so she gets used to being poked and prodded if/when she needs the vet. Also so she doesn’t get annoyed if younger kids do it to her. 4. The more toys the merrier. The more toys you give her the less likely she will be to steal things and less likely to destroy cushions and furniture. Kong toys or antlers are really good especially an antler or a teething dog. 5. Take her out every couple of hours to go to the loo AND after every play play session or every time she has eaten. And say a command like go weewee’s when she does he business she she can learn the command to go to the toilet. Also reward her when she goes to the loo outside but don’t punish her if she has an accident inside. Instead just take her outside and give her the command.

@@mdespres-davies1930 got to be careful with this though especialy with small dogs as Pig's ear treats have a high fat content and can be fattening, eventually leading to obesity. They can also cause stomach upsets in some dogs. Because they are high in fat, they can irritate the pancreas, causing pancreatitis in susceptible dogs. This results in vomiting, lethargy, abdominal pain, and diarrhoea. So would only give puppies one as a special treat and only a part of one for a small dog.

I get where you're coming from but it's completely unnecessary to tug on a dog's tail!! It's more likely to wind the dog up and make it more annoyed by being touched in the future. Slowly building up positive association to being restrained / touched with the use of treats or toys is a yes, but definitely no need to pull on their tail etc.! :)

@@chapterstars I wasn’t meaning pull hard. Just a little like lifting up their tail and lightly tug sometimes. Our trainers told us to do it occasionally when we got our jack russels so that they didn’t snap when the gran kids grab hold of the dogs or when the vet needs to check things. I wasn’t meaning it like a hard pull/yank. We just do some light things when playing with the dogs to re-enforce that they are ok with things as we have 2 toddlers in the family who don’t always understand what if they have gone a little too far.
